i am very happy with the food and service and also raman and simran doing a great job . i love amritsari kulcha and i had it every time when i was visited here....i gave 5 out of 5 star...
Visited them last year and had a decent experience. Had ordered chicken pakoras and samosas for take away. Service was efficient despite all the rush. We enjoyed their preparation.

A decent indian restaurant in main & fraser street area. The place is little congested to dine inside. but, the food is amazing and worth each penny. Especially, the snack items like chat papri, dhahi bhalla, chana bhatura and manchurian are really tasty.
This is small place on Fraser street with great variety of Indian dishes, be it sweets or dinner. I originally rated it 4 since even with amazing food, it does not have a proper sitting place (I mean I know it's not a restaurant, but still). BUT, my rating increased after learning about their tiffin deal. So you can opt for a pick up service for everyday for a month for $300 or every alternate days for $150 per month. By default, one curry (any of your choice), rice, raita and 8 rotis are included but you can swap it with anything like choole or kulcha or basically whatever you like. My friends/housemates have already opted for this service and I am planning to during the next month.
So, all my friends who do not want to cook and still enjoy tasty dishes, take this into consideration.
Food - 5/5
Service - 4/
Ambiance - 3/5
Value for money - 4.5/5 (5/5 for the tiffin service)
Good job, Dhaliwal!
Um ok I gotta be honest. I really wasn't expecting much at all for take out. We got a coupon in the mail for a $9.99 meal. The meal gives you a choice of curry protein or veggie or paneer, rice, salad, 2 Naan, 2 samosas, and a golab jamin.
I chose the curry chicken and WOAH! The spice is amazing! The rice is so fluffy and the Naan is thin and stretchy. Its absolutely delicious! The golab jamin is wonderful and done right. It was the perfect end to my meal. The veggie samosa wasn't too memorable, I've had better, but this place still deserves a high rating. I would suggest this special for take out. I heated up some rice at home and it fed my girlfriend and I. We were stuffed. Service is very good and friendly too. They gave me another coupon yes!
Comfortable Atmosphere, Delicious Food!. I've dined here a few times now. What I learned is that the Buffet section is mainly just leftovers. If you want the full factor, order from the menu. I had Butter Chicken from the menu AND the Buffet. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I can't possibly run through every dish I've ordered, but what I can say is that we have not been disappointed once.
Best Meal In Weeks. Tasteful and comfortable interior, very friendly service and a buffet that can only be described as fantastic. Well worth the $10 per person. Thats not a typo. $10 a head, including naan and two meat curry options. Seriously. If you can find better in the city you might as well move in. Do yourself a favour and eat here.
Really good food, fresh, and perfect every time! The staff are super friendly and I order out quite often from this place.
Yes, I went to another Indian Buffet this week LOL. I went to Dhoom because I really wanted to compare it to New Novelty which also offers a similar buffet (which I just recently reviewed) a few doors down! I was originally going to go to Dhoom the day I went to New Novelty, but I left because the tables were really dirty and there was barely any food left in the buffet! This time I went, the restaurant was nearly empty and I had the buffet all to myself hehe! New Novelty's buffet is $8.99 and Dhoom's is $11.99! Was it worth the extra $3? Read on! Signature Dishes Dhoom has another location in Surrey and another downtown! They're famous for their lamb rogan gosh and chai! I probably should have ordered that but I was too famished and couldn't think straight LOL ;) Service 3/5 stars The first time I went, the restaurant was packed, but this time, the restaurant was nearly empty! Walking in I directed to the buffet area and I seated myself. During my meal he came over to ask me
...we decide on Dhaliwal Sweets & Dhoom Restaurant . I am seriously craving some Chicken Tikka and can’t wait to try this place out. Let’s hope those positive reviews are right. Dhaliwal Sweets & Dhoom Restaurant actually turns out to be be two separate places. Dhoom is a restaurant & bar that is actually closed for renovations. Apparently it will be open for business again on the first week of Dec. Right beside Dhoom is Dhaliwal Sweets...Two completely different menus and approaches....If I was to tell you the chicken was tender I wouldn’t be lying. The Lamb is absolutely fantastic. I can’t get enough of dipping my Naan bread into the spinach sauce and scooping up a piece of tender Lamb. This is fantastic.
