My friend has been dying to come here as she read so much about this place. There are review on this place saying they serve the best cheesecakes in Vancouver. We came here to try. We got the Mocha Cheesecake. It's CAD$7 a slice. A little on the pricey side? Well, it does say it's the No.1 cheesecake shop. They have this sign saying it in their shop. The cake is not soft like the ones in Cheesecake Etc, yet not very stiff either.
Trees Organic is apparently known for having the best cheesecake in Vancouver… I wouldn’t know because I’ve never tried it here before. Perhaps on another occasion. No, on this visit, we were just looking for some Hot Chocolate. Well, that and a Lemon Loaf slice. The hot chocolate, capped with a generous layer of whipped cream, hit the spot on this cold, dreary day.
Cheesecake goodness!. I've been to multiple locations of the Trees Organic Coffee Houses and I have to say that this location is my favourite. I love the modern look and it is always nice to sit in their cafe while enjoying a latte with the sun (or rain) gazing in from their floor to ceiling spanning windows. I often order a muffin or scone (spinach and feta is my favourite) which is baked fresh every morning. Every once in a while, I treat myself to cheesecake, the key lime is my favourite! It has the creamiest texture and melts in my mouth. It has the perfect ratio of tartness to sweetness. Props to the bakers! The best thing about this cafe is their service though. I'm always greeted by smiling faces, especially by the manager who makes an effort to get to know my name and ask me how my day is. This place is definitely one of my favourite coffee shops. Very impressed by their food and great service!
Ended up here as Plaisir Sucre was closed.. We wanted to try Plaisir Sucre yesterday, but they were closed. We did not feel like going on a wild goose chase looking for another spot, so we took a leap of faith and walked in. Can't comment on the coffee, as we did not get any, we just got a couple slices of their "best cheesecake in town" to go. I got the key lime, and my friend got the one with with chocolate and cherries. They were decent, but certainly not the best cheesecake in town.. Good texture, nice and creamy, but just lacking in excitement factor. I'd like to have fresh fruit or some sort of complimenting coulis to go with it. Also, we asked for forks and they forgot to give them to us even though we were the only ones standing there. We only realized this after we arrived T the beach, so we ended up using my hair comb to eat them in desperation... All in all, can't complain. I didn't think I felt like cheesecake, but changed my mind when I ate them, so that's saying something.
Staff are always friendly when I have visited. Cheesecake is my favourite. Hit drink selection is good. My go to for a quick dessert.
A super smooth cup. Lovely.
You can order a flat white here. I never order a "flat white" -- Australia's signature style of coffee, a smooth, strong cappucino with the milk smoothly blended in, instead of a thick head of steamed foam -- unless I hear an Aussie accent behind the counter. And that's how the dark-haired sheila was speaking when I came to check out the new Trees Organic Coffee on Arbutus. (Where a late and not-too-lamented French bakery bit the dust late last year.) Flat whites aren't on the menu board as an option, but the cash register has a secret code to order one. And it's cheaper than a regular small latte -- $2.99 vs. 3.50 for the latte.
What the barista made me wasn't a true flat white, but I liked it. The milk was properly "microfoamed" but the coffee was a lot stronger than a standard Aussie flat white. More like a macchiato, a small latte with an extra shot of espresso. Nice kick to it.
The Trees chain is known for its good cheesecakes. I had a maple walnut slice. It's got a ricotta base, and it's tall -- I reckon close to 10 cm. -- but dense, not crumbly. Well-blended, natural-tasting maple flavour, adequate well-diced nut bits, a drizzle of real maple syrup on the plate. Fattening and satisfying. Good thing I went to the gym this morning.
Cheese Please ~ A few things tricks you need to know when trying to entice me to try a restaurant with you. One the word cheesecake. Two plates decorated all pretty for pictures. Three it just opened up. And four not many people know about it. I don't really take pictures of a restaurant's decor but this was a fine exception. I love me some new and modern design. Once again there is nothing more enjoyable than dining in a clean environment, it makes eating a fancier affair' and subtly and subconsciously elevates the food. This latest location of "Trees Organic" is located at the kitty corner of Broadway and Arbutus. There is meter parking available front of store, if you are lucky. They specialize in homemade cheesecake, but offer tea and coffee drinks along side sandwiches and other desserts. It is quiet and at 9:30pm it still had students with laptops studying away. There were at least 6 varieties of cheesecake to choose from and the staff were not shy about offering samples, I ha
