Newish Japanese restaurant operated by Chinese staffs and chefs. Good service and decent food. However a bit on the pricy side - One can surely find similar or even better quality Japanese food at a better price.
But for the ambience and the service, will probably try again with friends at special occasions.

The Gyutan Kushiyaki (grilled beef tongue skewers) came with a good amount of seasoning and a nice helping of black pepper. There was sufficient moisture in the beef tongue, but it was slightly tougher than Zakkushi's version.
The Parmesan Beef Roll came with prawn tempura, beef carpaccio, truffle oil, and parmesan cheese. The tender, thin slices of beef on top were very savoury when combined with the truffle oil and cheese, and as a whole

This place feels like a very expensive Japanese restaurant, but they do have some reasonably priced options on their menu. During lunch they offer lunch specials which are regular menu items at reduced prices. I would recommend going there to order those, but would not recommend ordering their $6 negitoro rolls, which has tuna with a very liquid consistency.

Had to check this place out since it was in the neighbourhood. Kyuzo is a bit pricier than a lot of Japanese restaurants, but it really depends on what you order. If you get the right stuff, it's pretty worth it, imo! The salmon oshi sushi and parmesan beef rolls are both phenomenal, what they slightly lack in portions they more than make up for in flavour. The lamp chops and foie gras nigiri (OMG) were great too. The only thing slightly lacking was the ankimo. Not as flavorful as I've had in the past, would not order again. But otherwise I'd recommend it, will be back to try more.

This place just replaced Ebi Sushi, and my family wanted to try it out for dinner, and were quite glad with our experience overall. The interior looks much brighter and nicely decorated, and the menu selection is pretty diverse. We ordered the salmon and tuna sashimi, which tasted fresh and was presented nicely on a bed of ice, and got the salmon oshi, which was comparable to other ones you could get at restaurants like green leaf, and by that, I mean that it tasted very good. The rainforest roll was one of the special rolls we wanted to try, and it was good, but nothing too special overall.

I felt their mentaiko Yaki udon and the chicken Katsu were the stars of the meal tonight however; the Katsu was breaded nicely, not soggy with oil or too dry, but perfectly crunchy, and comes with a side salad and sesame seeds in a mortar and pestle to grind and add to the Katsu sauce. Even better was that I found they had accidentally only gave me one Katsu, and brought the second Katsu to me that was supposed to be on the dish right away. The udon was very flavorful, and the bacon and scallops along with the sauce just mixed together really well, and I would definitely get both of these again next visit.

The only thing is that while the quality of the food is great and everything tastes good, the price is a little bit higher compared to other Japanese restaurants with similar menus and quality food. But it's nearby, the food tastes great, and the customer service is quick and good so far in their early stages of opening, so I'd come back for sure!
