I visited the Downtown Vancouver branch (unavailable on Zomato). Loved the customization, especially how cheap tacos are (and filling!). Decor was gorgeous and staff was friendly. Only complaint would be how watery the salsa is; felt like diced tomatoes and juice more than proper salsa.
I was genuinely surprised at how amazing these tacos were. Also I love that its actually a taco bar where I can custom build each one. Highly recommend if you want to avoid the lineups of other local Van Mexican spots.
A super underrated taco place that can get overlooked as the taco scene in Vancouver has exploded the last few years. They are well beyond the days where only skaters hung out here and are a spot for any professional or family to enjoy tacos at! The food speaks for itself, its Cali-style tacos give this place a new twist and the ingredients are top notch. I personally thought the Al Pastor Taco is out of this world with its sweet pork flavour. The churros are amazing to grab and go as well. The Burritos are for days when you want to get fully filled up. Lastly, they do amazing catering that most taco places can't handle so for a corporate holiday party at the office or watching Superbowl at a friends...it's prime!

Excellent place for Mexican fast food! They have decent variety on their menu and have burritos that are much better than Chipotle's. They have a good variety of toppings too.
If you give them your phone number, they sign you up to get $1 off for every $10 you spend. Unfortunately none of the staff told me about it until very recently. So make sure you ask them to sign you on.
Good Mexican food . My go to place for a quick meal .. I'm not sure if I like the tacos and the burritos as much I like the tostadas ... and they serve pretty quickly .
I prefer the burritos over the tacos at Chronic Tacos. I feel like you get more bang for your buck because the burritos are huge and they don’t skimp on the fillings.
Deliciously flavoured chicken soft tacos, with all the fresh ingredients you could ask for. Cold draft beer, and several other alcoholic options, all go well with the vibe of this family friendly casual trendy food stop. Six easily visable flat screens playing sports, and funky music keeping us comfy as we enjoy the Mexican flare.
Good tostada bowls. I have been to the West Broadway location about 5 times now as it is close to work and I go on my lunch. There is usually a line up however the staff are very fast (friendly too) so the wait is not long. I usually call ahead and place my order if I am short on time. The veggies are fresh and they really load the tostada bowls up; I have tried the chicken and beef only...both were flavourful. I will have to try other menu items which I will as I will defiantly be going back for the quality of food and good value.
At least it's not Taco Hell. When I make a comparison in my mind of Chronic Tacos vs. other Mexican food joints, I think of the Maui Taco chain in Hawaii, Taco Bill's franchises in Melbourne Australia, or similar places where no actual Mexicans are involved in making the food. If you have a restaurant where Mexicans are working, you're going to have a better chance of authentic Mexican-tasting food (of course, "Tex-Mex" is a better word for what we Anglos are accustomed to.) But for a gringo chain, Chronic is OK. It's not Taco Hell, after all.
The ingredients looked fresh the day I stopped in. Chronic rolls a nice fattie -- I mean the plump shape of their burritos, not the other meaning of "fattie." The young people on the staff were friendly and chatty when I was there during a slow time in mid-afternoon. (Reading other reviews of various Chronics around town, I guess that's not always the case.) This Chronic sells alcohol, and having beer with Mexican food is always great. Because I was low on cash, my selection was limited to Pabst Blue Ribbon, a brand of beer I haven't drunk for decades, because I jeer at the "hipster chic" surrounding this crap brand. On a hot day with spicy food, though, PBR isn't that bad. I hope it doesn't make me start growing ironic facial hair.
One gripe I have is how extras pump up the price of your item. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito because it was only $4.79, but getting veggies and sauces added another $3 to the cost, and that's after I told them "No" to the offer of guacamole, which would have been another $1. "Mordita" is Mexican slang for "a little bite," i.e. the bribes that people have to pay to crooked cops down there. I felt like I got mucho mordita'ed with my burrito, amigos.
