Went here for happy hour and it was definitely worth the money. Such a cool, trendy vibe inside and the location is fantastic. At first, I didn’t think we’d find parking (as only street parking is available close to the restaurant at Olympic Village), but at a certain time of day (early evening), it was easy to find parking. Sliders were great – perfect sized trio and ended up ordering this dish twice. The other appetizers were also equally delicious. We were quite pleased with the dishes in general in terms of the preparation, presentation, portion, taste and value. Would come back here again for happy hour.
Decently good.
The pulled pork sandwich comes on a brioche-like bun. It has a nice smokey essence, although it wasn't quite as flavourful and bbq-ish as pulled pork should be.
The Banana bread with the identity crisis was interesting. Is a pre-meal appetizer or a dessert? It's kind of in between sweet and savory - mostly the butter stands out as the predominant flavour. Not bad, not amazing, just confusing.
I'm super satisfied with the service and food at flying pig! My family and I shared a steak/fish platter, deep fried squid and creamed corn side dishes. Our waitress was very kind to really explain the dishes and quickly provide service. Food was amazing, considering it was a very busy evening everything seemed perfect! I love the location and vibe of this restaurant! I'm excited to try it again!
came in here tonight with the film crew i was working with. the producer ordered set platters to share. it should have been for two people but we had three guys on it and it wasn't enough but that's not on the pig.
the salad, sirloin, chicken cutlets, mashed potatoes and green beans were excellent. the salmon filet tasted very fishy. it was cooked perfectly but the taste was way off for me. might have even been a chum.
the menu looks great. i really want to explore it. i'll be back.
Great place for a date or hangout with a few friends. Tasty Canadian bar/bistro food. Love their happy hour menu which is served everyday. Olympic village is the only location that offers happy hour from 4-6pm and 10pm-12am. Prices have gone up a little but still worth it. House wine/beer for $4.75 and small plates for $6.25-$7.25. Had the beef short rib croquette, curd meats, sirracha chicken drumsticks, poutine, truffle mac and cheese and beef carpaccio. All very scrumptious! They have a lovely brunch and dinner menu as well.
Finally we got a summer! So I took Momsies to The Flying Pig for their Happy…er…’Appy Hour. It was a good deal. Food were $6 and drinks (house red or white wine, or house beer) were $4.75. We went to the Olympic Village location as it was walking distance.
We were looking for brunch on a patio to enjoy the sun on. It was spring in Vancouver, with cloudless skies and weather as high as 20 degrees. Although we ended up settling at a table indoors, within the reach of the sun’s rays. It was also one of those rare times I wanted to make sure my guests liked the place I chose. So, still wanting to review something new, I made my choice this: the newest “Flying Pig”, located at Olympic village. I have been to the other locations and have yet to be disappointed by the food. Service has been an issue in the past, but not so today, not here.
Great service from the start. Generous portion of actually warm bread. Food and drinks came really quickly. They even split our dish for us at no extra charge. We had the seafood pappardelle and a side of truffled cauliflower. Overall a great experience and the server even split the bill perfectly before we asked / told her to. It's a dangerous thing to live so close to it because we'll likely return many more times.
The Flying Pig located on 2nd Ave near Olympic Village has appy hour between 4pm and 6pm every day. It’s great that they open a location closer to my workplace since my coworkers and I love a good appy hour. The items on the menu are all $6 and there are $5 drink specials too. What better way to rejoice after a long day at work?

We came right at 5:45pm before appy hour ended and put in our order. I actually prefer this location over the Gastown location since the staff here seen nicer.
