Went here for happy hour and it was definitely worth the money. Such a cool, trendy vibe inside and the location is fantastic. At first, I didn’t think we’d find parking (as only street parking is available close to the restaurant at Olympic Village), but at a certain time of day (early evening), it was easy to find parking. Sliders were great – perfect sized trio and ended up ordering this dish twice. The other appetizers were also equally delicious. We were quite pleased with the dishes in general in terms of the preparation, presentation, portion, taste and value. Would come back here again for happy hour.

Decently good.

The pulled pork sandwich comes on a brioche-like bun. It has a nice smokey essence, although it wasn't quite as flavourful and bbq-ish as pulled pork should be.

The Banana bread with the identity crisis was interesting. Is a pre-meal appetizer or a dessert? It's kind of in between sweet and savory - mostly the butter stands out as the predominant flavour. Not bad, not amazing, just confusing.

I'm super satisfied with the service and food at flying pig! My family and I shared a steak/fish platter, deep fried squid and creamed corn side dishes. Our waitress was very kind to really explain the dishes and quickly provide service. Food was amazing, considering it was a very busy evening everything seemed perfect! I love the location and vibe of this restaurant! I'm excited to try it again!

came in here tonight with the film crew i was working with. the producer ordered set platters to share. it should have been for two people but we had three guys on it and it wasn't enough but that's not on the pig.
the salad, sirloin, chicken cutlets, mashed potatoes and green beans were excellent. the salmon filet tasted very fishy. it was cooked perfectly but the taste was way off for me. might have even been a chum.
the menu looks great. i really want to explore it. i'll be back.

Great place for a date or hangout with a few friends. Tasty Canadian bar/bistro food. Love their happy hour menu which is served everyday. Olympic village is the only location that offers happy hour from 4-6pm and 10pm-12am. Prices have gone up a little but still worth it. House wine/beer for $4.75 and small plates for $6.25-$7.25. Had the beef short rib croquette, curd meats, sirracha chicken drumsticks, poutine, truffle mac and cheese and beef carpaccio. All very scrumptious! They have a lovely brunch and dinner menu as well.

Finally we got a summer!  So I took Momsies to The Flying Pig for their Happy…er…’Appy Hour.  It was a good deal.  Food were $6 and drinks (house red or white wine, or house beer) were $4.75.  We went to the Olympic Village location as it was walking distance.

We were looking for brunch on a patio to enjoy the sun on. It was spring in Vancouver, with cloudless skies and weather as high as 20 degrees. Although we ended up settling at a table indoors, within the reach of the sun’s rays. It was also one of those rare times I wanted to make sure my guests liked the place I chose. So, still wanting to review something new, I made my choice this: the newest “Flying Pig”, located at Olympic village. I have been to the other locations and have yet to be disappointed by the food. Service has been an issue in the past, but not so today, not here.

Great service from the start. Generous portion of actually warm bread. Food and drinks came really quickly. They even split our dish for us at no extra charge. We had the seafood pappardelle and a side of truffled cauliflower. Overall a great experience and the server even split the bill perfectly before we asked / told her to. It's a dangerous thing to live so close to it because we'll likely return many more times.

The Flying Pig located on 2nd Ave near Olympic Village has appy hour between 4pm and 6pm every day. It’s great that they open a location closer to my workplace since my coworkers and I love a good appy hour. The items on the menu are all $6 and there are $5 drink specials too. What better way to rejoice after a long day at work?

We came right at 5:45pm before appy hour ended and put in our order. I actually prefer this location over the Gastown location since the staff here seen nicer.

Came here for happy hour and between the 2 of us we ordered 7 appies and 3 drinks. Boy can we eat! Bf has now found his fav hh spot! This location is, in my opinion, the least busy but weather dependant I guess. Bfs fav was the beer short rib croquette. My fav was the truffle mac + cheese. Hh drinks are only house red/white wine or lager but food menu options are so worth it!!!
Sept 9/16: bfs favorite happy hour so we keep coming back! Truffle Mac and cheese is to die for. Probably the best item on the hh menu. They had an added deep fried fish nugget that day as well which they usually don't have on the hh menu. Wish they had it on the regular because the fish was so flaky and tender! Yum!

A few outlets in Vancouver I’d heard pretty good things about the casual eatery The Flying Pig. Housed in a very interesting outfitted building it was refined chic meets cabin bar with a heavy amount of exposed brick had a short and sweet that had food to match the ambience. I ordered the seafood pappardelle and their cheesy bone marrow bread, I well-rounded meal if I don’t say so myself.

I’ve been to The Flying Pig before for brunch and always enjoyed their Deviled Jumbo Chicken Drumettes.

This time around, I decided to stick with something more breakfasty… hence the Country Style Breakfast. I must say that this was quite good… it includes 2 eggs, back bacon, a salad, and toast.

Who wouldn’t want to start a day like this?

A hidden gem in the Village! Awesome place for happy hour appetizers.  If you don't want to fight the crowds for happy hour at the other locations, then consider coming to this one! The happy hour items are the same and the taste is there, if not better and also they let you sie wherever you wish, not just restricted to the bar area like the other two locations.  I had the crab cakes, truffle mac and cheese and the clams with shoestring fries.  All tasted amazing! Don't forget about the cheap wine too during the happy hour! Definitely recommend this location and the all the food items I tried!

We went to the Flying Pig for my mom's 50th birthday celebration, and man what a great experience we had. We arrived at 6pm and we're promptly given a table by the owner, and our waitress was great too. She was just the right amount of attentive and still let us enjoy out meal in peace. My parents ordered the special- which was a huge platter for 30$ a person consisting of all their main dishes and bone marrow. My sister ordered the lobster prawn risotto, and a side of Brussels sprouts and I ordered the short rib macaroni and house salmon sampler. Everything was delicious! We shared two bottles of wine and had a feast! The waitress came to our table just enough to keep our water full and ensure we had a great meal, and the owner came by again and did the same! He even personally brought out a slice of the BEST CAKE I HAVE EVER HAD for my mom's birthday and the whole restaurant sang. It was such a great experience and the staff was so kind! Such a fabulous experience at this location- can't wait to go back again!

To celebrate my dinner companion’s birthday, we decided to try “The Flying Pig” at the Olympic Village. Flying Pig bills itself as a “nouveau Canadian bistro”, meaning local seasonal ingredients in a casual atmosphere, and at a reasonable price. The Olympic Village location on West 2nd Avenue (between Manitoba and Columbia street) is the newest one, open since late December 2014.  The others being the original location in Yaletown on Hamilton Street, and in Gastown on Water Street.

Hi everyone! So if you read my food blog on a regular basis, you should know I just blogged about a Flying Pig location in Gastown a few weeks ago. Today I will be talking about the Flying Pig at the Village. I didn't even know that there was a Flying Pig location around there until Phil mentioned it to me when he drove by that area a few weeks ago. This restaurant is located at the Olympic Village on West 2nd. With tons of brand new apartment buildings, it definitely draws a lot more attention within that area when there is so many great food options. We went there on a Saturday for my bros birthday. They don't take dinner reservations so I expected a wait. When we got there, there were many people standing around the entrance, so I was prepared to wait for at least 20 mins or more for a table, especially when there was a Canucks game on that night. When I told the host that we were a table of 3, we were seated right away. So I'm assuming those people waiting had large parties. I was celebrating both my bros birthday because they both have birthdays during April. One of my bros ordered a Mojito & I ordered my usual white wine, Riesling $9.00 . My bro thought the Mojito was okay, tried better elsewhere.   We were served with fresh bread with olive oil & balsamic vinegar before our main courses arrived. For our main course, it was a very easy decision for us. We all went for the T.F.P. Signature Pork Rack which came with side veggies & a pulled pork poutine. $25.50. The pork rack was extremely tender and juicy. Everything was just made to perfection and my bros were extremely satisfied. They were very happy with the overall meal and had no concerns whatsoever. I highly recommend this dish because it is definitely worth the value. You get a big juicy piece of Pork rack with an extremely filling side poutine and nicely cooked veggies.   At the end, we ended up ordering a dessert to share among us three siblings. I believe this is a vanilla cake with chocolate and whip

My favourite location!. Service was excellent!! Our server was in training but she was friendly and attentive:) she did a great job! I found the staff here so much more down to earth than the yaletown one. I find service in Vancouver is going downhill, so it was refreshing to be in an establishment where it still mattered.

food was as expected, delicious!! I'd go back here again.

The Olympic Village location just recently opened on West 2nd and I (inadvertently) stopped by for brunch on a February weekday morning. The whole area around the Olympic Village seems to be redeveloping as they have lots of construction going on in the neighbourhood. The restaurant has an open-concept kitchen that you can see from both inside and outside the restaurant and the interior has clean lines with a mix of rustic brick and earthy wood tones...
