Came here for lunch while waiting for a tire repair nearby. We came at the right time as it became very busy and full shortly after. I ordered a simple tofu vegetables from the lunch menu. Portion side was small but just enough. Taste is good as well

Top notch Chinese food.

Excellent variety of lunch specials that can include a main of choice with soup and rice.

The ever so popular Spicy green beans lived up to expectations, the green bean itself is crunchy coated in an oily glaze with a burst of onion/garlic flavour. It’s sweet & savoury all in one.

The pork fried rice was fragrant & comes in a big serve! The right amount of saltiness & that wok fried flavour round this dish out to be delicious.

The corn soup was a nice warm starter, very wholesome cooked strands of egg whites with pieces of corn & small amount of chicken. Wish it had more chicken in it.

The ‘juicy pork dumplings’ as they call it is delicious. Dumpling bursting with pork soup & pork mince filling. The accompanying vinegar brings the classic to life!

The servers are all very lovely. Bringing tea to your table after you take your seat.

My recommendation- check out the affordable lunch time specials!

Absolutely LOVE this place.  Everything about it was good!  The Honey Prawn was my absolute favorite.  I couldn't stop thinking about it since I've been there.  Of course, I tried the Xiao Long Bao, very tasty.  The Pan Fried cake with marinated beef had a very crispy outside and beef was not dry at all.  Shanghai noodles wasn't too greasy.  The prices were not bad at all, for the quality of good.  I would definitely go back to try more stuff on the menu!

I visited this restaurant for their lunch specials. For currently less than $10 you get your pick from over a dozen dishes, all of which are served with a bowl of rice and a small bowl of soup (either Hot & Sour or Chicken & Corn). I've had their Sesame Chicken (which I thought was alright) and Sweet & Sour Pork (which I really enjoyed). Their portions are quite generous, and a great value for the price. The service can be a bit dodgy. The food comes quite quickly and the staff are reasonably friendly, but they aren't particularly attentive and do seem to mix up orders quite frequently. Overall, this is a fantastic place for a tasty and affordable lunch that I'd highly recommend visiting!

Sweet & Sour Pork ($9.50):
4/5
I was really quite impressed by the portion size: they give quite a generous amount of pork with very little filler (I'd say that the dish was roughly 90% pork and maybe 10% peppers and onions). Moreover, the pieces of pork were actually very meaty, and was sufficiently tender and juicy. The batter was a tad soggy, but still had some crunch. I stirred the rice in with the pork so that the sweet and tangy sauce provided a great flavour to the rice.

Sesame Chicken ($9.50):
3/5
Once again, the portion was very generous. Although the flavour the dish was very good (sweet and tangy with a nice fragrance from the toasted sesame seeds), I was unfortunately a bit disappointed by the chicken. First of all, the batter was quite soggy and had lost most of its crunch. Moreover, while there were a few large pieces, the majority of the chicken were quite small and did not have much meat, but was mostly batter. This was still tasty, but a big step down from their great sweet & sour pork.

Chicken & Corn Soup:
Again the soup had a thick, cornstarch-thickened texture. It contained some eggs, corn and had a nice fragrance from chicken broth. I personally preferred this over the Hot & Sour soup.

Hot & Sour Soup:
The soup was thick (probably thorugh cornstarch) and had some bamboo shoots, mushrooms and egg. Flavour-wise it was mildly tangy without much heat. It wasn't bad, but nothing that I'd order on its own.

My girlfriend and I keep hearing good comments about lin's on Broadway. We decided to give it a try one afternoon. Luckily it wasn't busy, we got seated right away. We ordered the soup dumplings, but longs noodle house is still the best in the city. None the less, still delicious. The beef roll was dine nicely, not heavy or greasy. Then the beef Shanghai meat ball. This is definitely a dish to be shared, it's huge. I can't imagine eating this all alone without having the meat sweats LOL.

Overall, service was on the slow side, but not rude.
Prices are fair for the West end.

Tbh I don't like Chinese food that much but this place is definitely good. I like the way they make their dumplings; they look really nice and they have a good amount of flavor. Their veggie dumplings don't have noodle and tofu bits like other veggie dumplings I've had, but it was good; it had a fresher taste. I also got the noodles with veggie roots, which I thought was a pretty unique dish.

Their soup dumplings here are pretty good and at a reasonable price! But what really stood out to me was their signature noodle soup dish in chili oil sauce.. Soooooo bomb. I don't usually opt for noodles as I am never a huge fan, but this was it!!! Every bite I could tell the noodles were soft and made fresh and the broth was sooooo yummy!!!

The dumplings were probably my favourite thing of the night and I wish I could have eaten a whole basket to myself. The dumplings were a good size, not too large or small, and were very juicy. Green Onion Halibut. This was another favourite dish of mine for the night. The halibut was flakey and moist and the green onion sauce was delicious

I must have passed by Lin Chinese Cuisine countless of times on my commute to UBC back in the day.  Because of their location at West Broadway and Granville, I assumed that their Chinese food would be more accustomed to Western tastes.  Being that my hometown is Richmond, I was accustomed to the Chinese restaurants in Richmond serving closely authentic dishes.  Last month, I was excited to attend a media event organized by Chinesebites.com at Lin Chinese Cuisine.  I finally got the chance to try their dishes and find out what they are about.

NOTE: As part of the ChineseBites media event, all food and beverages were free, but all opinions are based on my own experience. Lin Chinese Cuisine and Tea House is just a few blocks down from my office on West Broadway and we usually order take out here during busy season. From my previous experience, it wasn’t exactly the greatest, so I was curious to see what there was to offer during the ChineseBites media event.
