Delicious meal with 3 teenagers. Bread sticks were a big hit! We ordered 3 different pizzas and polished them all off--they were fresh, delicious and unique. Would recommend this place to anyone :)
Great food, friendly staff. Always an enjoyable experience.
Great first visit. It has an interesting interior. When i first walked in it felt like a diner with the booths but the countertops and high table seatings were modern. It's a mix of new and old that works. The thin neopolitan pizzas were quick to prepare. I believe they were about 12" sizes. The special was potato and chorizo, which was salty at first bite but the white sauce makes it all work, especially when you eat it with the rosemary oil provided. The pepperoni pizza was a great classic and smoother tasting. Meatballs were a great starter.
Good pizza. Good service. Nice ambience. Not too loud. Easily the coolest spot in Kerrisdale right now. We had the meatballs as an appy and there's no question someone in the kitchen is making an effort. Five stars for being everything it should be in a mid-range casual joint, not because it's a white tablecloth/special occasion restaurant.
This is a pizza joint located on Blvd in Kerrisdale, just a couple of blocks away from 41st Avenue. They specializes in thin-crust Neapolitan-style pizzas, and also serve classic Italian appetizers and drinks. I had their Burrata appetizer and Carbonara Pizza. I quite enjoyed their pies, which are some of the better ones that I've had, although I do think that some people might find the toppings to be a bit too salty. Service-wise, the food was prepared relatively quickly and the staff are friendly, but not overly attentive. All in all, I do consider this to be one of the better pizza joints that I've tried, and I'd recommend visiting if you like Neapolitan-style pies.
Burrata ($19):
3.5/5
This was served with roasted acorn squash and toasted sourdough. This is the first time that I've had burrata, so I don't know what it's supposed to taste like. The cheese was quite creamy, although a bit bland. The squash was tender and sweet; I do wish that they could have cut it into smaller pieces however as it was a bit hard to eat with the bread. I really enjoyed the bread, which was nicely toasted.
Carbonara Pizza ($19):
4/5
This came topped with pecorino, pancetta, and an egg. The crust was nice and crispy, and not bland. Although there didn't look like there was much topping, it was actually very flavourful. It wa a bit on the salty side: I actually quite enjoyed it, but I think that it might be a bit too much for others.
Summary:
Food: 3.5/5
Price: 3.5/5
Service: 3.5/5
Overall: 3.5/5
Recommendations: Carbonara Pizza
Went for dinner there and ordered beef carpaccio, arugula & grapefruit salad, pizza: pesto & ricotta, funghi, and finocchiona. Portions were good to share among 4 people. Flavour was good and the crust was yummy. Only thing was i find it a bit too thin, hence the toppings kept falling off. But I must say the staff there were attentive and super friendly.
For Dine Out Vancouver 2018 my friend's pick was Bufala for a late Sunday afternoon lunch. We got in late-ish almost at 2pm I believe and seating was pretty easy, no reservations required. They were however out of two of three desserts on their Dine Out menu! So you might want to take that into consideration.
You gotta eat here! Some family friends recommended this place to us and it was so worth it. Their Neapolitan style pizza is authentic and mouth watering. Its super family friendly and inviting as well as a great place to just hang out. I sincerely recommend the Funghi pizza and the Magherita pizza! The service was a bit slow, but the food made it worth the wait. Overall, It's a great spot to chill and enjoy some authentic Neapolitan style pizza. I will for sure be coming back!!
Bufala has one of the best pizzas in Vancouver, situated where Mac Shack used to be (by the way, also an amazing restaurant- too bad there aren't any other locations anymore.) Everything about each individual slice is amazing and seduces you into a pizza coma. The crust is chewy and delicious, and so is the rest of the dough. The tomato and white sauces are both delicious and don't overpower the other ingredients. My favorite tomato sauce pizza is the margarita (call me boring!) And my favorite white sauce pizza is the green peas and ham, with pungent Taleggio and truffle oil. The smell slaps you in the face. The kale Caesar salad reinvents the way of preparing kale, and the homestyle meatballs taste like what Mama would make. The comfortable setting is appealing and the smell is really overwhelming but INCREDIBLE! Man, this place really hits the spot.
Salad, carpaccio and pizza were all very tasty, tho we prefer pizza with more than one bite of sausage per piece. We weren't that happy with our server tho (who went by the name of 'dinner' on our bill.. She was rather condescending in general. Only one of the three oils was marked with a name and it seemed like we were the stupid ones for asking. Not a good attitude, but other than that we'd likely go back. Reasonable beer special; not a lot of atmosphere.
One of the very best places to eat in kerrisdale. The pizzas are all fantastic. Salads are delicious too. Nice warm cozy neighborhood feel to the space. Great atmosphere.
I tried Bufala this summer. I have been back at least twice. In my opinion Bufala is one of the best of Kerrisdale's dining options. Just look at this presentation. While the Italian Burrata is as beautiful in the mouth as it is on the plate, Bufala excels in its pizzas. The pesto and ricotta with pine nuts is a must try.
My favorite place to eat pizza in Kerrisdale.
So, I came here to celebrate my friend’s Bday. It was happy hour so I ordered a Cocktail in 9$ which is normally 12$. Kale salad was little different than other reviews photo (before it had an egg and bacon on top. But now it’s gone 😅) But still, taste so nice. Fungi Pizza, some said too many arugula but I love it so it doesn’t bothered me at all. It was fresh and white sauce with mushrooms was perfect matching. Service was over the top. Thank you for a tiramisu 😘 Overall, I loved it! I will definitely visit again and again ~
We went to Bufala for our first day last year and had the best of times, so we decided to recreate the memory by going there on our anniversary this year. We made the right choice. I love the outside seating and the waiters are always cordial and kind and very attentive. They were extra nice when we told them we are there for our anniversary. This place has the only Pesto Pizza in Vancouver that I like and reminds me of real good pizza back home. They also have great drinks. We ordered the garlic pizza which was both delicious and great to look at. We finished the night with the tiramisu dessert which was just heavenly. We will definitely go there more in the future. Highly recommended.
This place hits it out of the park with their pizza. Always tastes extremely fresh with top quality ingredients. I would also highly recommend trying their garlic bread, its made before your eyes in a wood oven and they have their own unique twist on it. Probably in the top 5 pizza places in the Lower Mainland right now.
Two delicious pizzas shared. One with roasted mushrooms with arugula and one with artichokes and Kalamata olives. Absolutely delicious!
Bufala is such a great restaurant that never disappoints. They have great specials that I always looks forward to - we had a clam and potato pizza the last time we came and it was so yummy and unique. It's a perfect spot to bring guests because there is something for everyone and the food, atmosphere, and service all add up to a satisfying dining experience.
