It was all fantastic, the place was packed, service was great! The food was outstanding and very tasty, we had various menu items and the 60 ounce streak between 6 of us and it was done to perfection! The people next to us were having the family style dinner 55.00 each and the food kept coming, the place is setting the trend can't wait to go back.
Incredible restaurant! One of the best in Vancouver. Consistently great family style Italian food. And the customer service is unmatched. Pastas are always so fresh tasting and the meat cooked on the wood fire oven is incredible
The award-winning eatery impressed again, even my mother, who is a tough critic and usually prefers Chinese over other cuisines. The service was top notched as usual. Although the lighting is not the most camera-friendly here, the dining room is still one of the most beautiful in the city. So do come here for a casual, romantic date by the counter. The house-made pasta scores the highest among the dishes for me like my previous experience. However, mom loved the grass-fed veal chop! If you are from a city where Michelin quality restaurants are super pricey, you will find dinner at Savio Volpe a steal.
Absolutely incredible restaurant! This is by far the very best food and service we’ve ever experienced! My husband and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary here and were absolutely blown away. Although it’s a bit on the pricey side, it was so worth the splurge! We did the fixed priced menu and honestly, each course was better than the last. Highly recommend this place!
One of, if not, our favourite restaurant to eat at! They use seasonal ingredients so the menu is always changing. The pasta is always so fresh and delicious, make sure to order one if not two pasta dishes when you go! They have a set menu option but we recommend picking and choosing several dishes instead. It will be tough to walk in at peak dinner times so reservation is probably better. Service is great and for the quality of food we would gladly pay again.
When people I just meet find out that I blog about food, 10/10 times the first question is, "What's your favourite restaurant?" For about a year now, my answer has always been Miku but it all changed after tonight's experience at Osteria Savio Volpe. Savio Volpe to me was like the holy grail of restaurants, I've heard so much about it, read stories, even a friend of mine works there. But for some reason, I never made an effort to go.
Amazing food. Their take on family style, classic dishes with a modern twist is fantastic.
Nothing beats family style service with simple dishes that are perfectly executed.
Ambience and atmosphere and can be a bit different that what you’d expect from one of YVR’s top new restaurants.
Get the veal chop if it’s available when you’re dining here.
We brought a bottle of Château Montelena Cabernet Sauvignon 2004. Fabulous wine that made the evening 1cchini fritti and the Faro salad. Both outstanding flavour and texture. We then split 2 primi. The ricotta Gnocchi and the Rigatoni with various roasted meats. For our secondi I had Sockeye Salmon and the rest of the table had the veal chop. We finished the fabulous feast with blueberry coulis stuffed donuts in a creme glaze. Lovely. Service was good, helpful, attentive and friendly.
Was wowed. We sat at the bar. Felt so welcomed in this beautiful restaurant. Service was fantastic. Pastas-memorable. We’ll definitely be back.
I’ve dined here three times now since the restaurant opened and I have never been disappointed!
I celebrated my birthday with my wonderful friends! We had the family style dinner! So worth it! We had so many dishes brought to us and all of them were delicious! We honestly didn’t expect that much food. The family dinner was 5 course meal but seemed like it was 10 course! we had 2-3 dishes of salads, pastas, meats and deserts!
The pasta dishes were our favorite! The meat dishes equally good. Steak like butter! The kale salad...I could have ate the entire dish on my own. Deserts were divine. I would have drank more wine but I needed to function for work the next day! Looking forward to dining here again for next celebration
Last year, I took a cooking class (for roman style pizza) from a chef named Peter Cuiffa (aka Pasta Boy Peter) who mentioned that he worked at Osteria Savio Volpe. Since then, the restaurant was on my to-do list. So on a spring weekend, we went. Savio Volpe (I think this roughly translates to “Wise Fox”) is a rustic Italian restaurant on Kingsway, just off Fraser street. They focus on simple dishes, and seasonal ingredients including fresh house made pasta
We were blown away. We decided to try the Chef's Menu. Every course was simple and deliscious. Fresh local product. The food was really perfect. The wine recommendation as well. The staff is very authentic (sincere) and busy. Really fun atmosphere. All ages and groups of people. It reminded me of some fun times in osterias in Tuscany.
