This place never disappoints. I wish I can eat there everyday. It is hands down my favorite restaurant. The service is fast and the staff are very nice. The food is Awesome. The Galbi short ribs literally melts in your mouth with its intense flavor. There isn't one dish on the menu I haven't liked yet.

One of the best run Asian/Korean restaurant comparable to higher end restaurants in Yaletown. Always with the best servers and each one is dedicated to the customers and their meal. I do not go here as a regularly as I love to, because of their high quality of staff and speed. Many people wait in line. I do not do well with line up. But the wait is well worth it. Try the lunch it's awesome.
We (three people) had to wait 40 minutes to be seated because the restaurant was full, but it was definitely worth it. We had the lunch menu RA for 20CAD
Good place for authentic Korean food.
The service good and helpful. The dishes were all very tasty and generous in size.
The restaurant is busy and had a long line waiting to be seated.
This is the place to eat authentic Korean food if you crave for this type of food. It is always crowded and for good reason. It is a popular place for both locals and tourists so it is recommended to book a table in advance or failing that , go earlier or later .
Only downsides to this place is the loooong queues and the price for the same quality food you can get at most Korean places. The tteokbokki is amazing, must try. Their seafood is a little over cooked but well seasoned. Japchae is also good.
I've been to Sura once for dinner and I found that experience to be pretty underwhelming after hearing such good things about their food. When I got asked to go try their set lunch menu, I decided to give it another chance and was surprised at how much better their lunch is compared to their dinner. Their lunch combos offer a variety of different dishes for a good price which is probably why it's so busy. We were able to order 3 orders of the lunch combo for 4 people and we were all pretty full so the portions are decent. I usually take photos of everything I eat but my phone was dead so I didn't manage to take anything this time but I do think I'll come back again (but only during lunch time).
TL;DR
-Go for their lunch combos! Pretty good bang for your buck
-Portions are decent
-Lots of variety
-Decent service
-It's super busy at lunch so expect a ~30min wait
-8/10 would recommend to friend
Sura is one of my go to Korean restaurants. It’s on the slightly pricier end but their location and banchan can’t be beat. They have some of the best Korean side dishes in town, and I always find myself back here for consistent Korean eats. This post is a combination of two visits!. What we ate: Seafood Pancake ($20.00)
I have been going to Sura for 5 years now. It used to be one of my favourite Korean resturants but recently is been really hard to get into and there always a huge line. Beside the mass of people the food is delicious and full of flavor. It has also gotten really expensive. I miss the days when it was a nice quiet resturant.. now you have to deal with people standing in line staring and gaping at you as you attempt to enjoy your food.
Sura Korean Royal Cuisine is one of my favorite Korean restaurants downtown Vancouver. It is located on Robson Street. It is a busy place to have lunch and dinner. It’s always super big lineup no matter weekends or weekdays.
My friends and I always went there for lunch since it has a very great deal on their lunch special menu. You can try different kinds of Korean dishes in $15 and $25.
Each dish came fast. The portion of the food is based on people quantity. The food is fresh and tasty. Definitely, we should go back there again.
Set Course SU $15.00
Dong–chimi / Green Salad / Yam Mousse / Tang–pyungchae / Bulgogi / Potato Pancake / Tang–sooyuk / Grilled Atlantic Croaker / Bossam / Doenjang Jjigae / 3 kinds of Side-dishes / Korean Rice Punch
Delicious authentic Korean food. The bulgogi, seafood pancake, and bimbimbap are great. I went during dinner time and the ambiance of the restaurant was very nice and chic. Would 10/10 come back
Reached restaurant quite late (abt 9.25pm), luckily we were served as the last guests. The ambience is quite good for dining, food is fantastic and authentic Korean. I would give 5.0 rating if only we were not "chased out" by asking for payment while we are still eating (guess they want to close on time). Overall it was good food and experience and would definitely come back.
Great value lunch set ($25/person, minimum order of 2) - actually a great deal for parents with a single child. The portions are small but with so many different "courses", great for a tasting menu. A few dishes were tad bit too spicy, it'd be great to be able to customize the spiciness level.
Lunch set $25/person is a pretty sweet deal.
With minimal order of two persons, you get quite a variety of food and good portions too!
You have to eat fast though because the waitress will keep serving and filling up the table.
Kimchi pancake was memorable.
Seafood pancake was alright.
Congee was great.
Got a recommendation to try Sura... My intentions were to get the Gamja-Tang (pork Bone soup) but then I saw their lunch special and had to go for that. It was a sample of many of their popular dishes but man, they were not sample sizes. Great sized portions, great taste and great service!! I will be back.
I ordered the Bulgogi Bibimbap, and it was served on a stone pot that kept the food piping hot for a long time. The food was delicious! It came with three side dishes that change daily, and the traditional Korean decor enhanced the dining experience.
The lunch special here is great value as it includes nearly a dozen delicious dishes that fill up a table. I'd be confident recommending just about everything on the menu, but did find the bulgogi to be the highlight of my visit. The interior is very true to Korean culture and service was decent but underwhelming for such a notable restaurant. I also found the seating uncomfortable.
Located in the coal harbour area of downtown Vancouver, this place serves some great tasting Korean food.
We tried their Veggie Dolsot Bibimbap and the Veggie Kimchi fried rice and they both were delightful. The spicy sauce they give with the Bibimbap blends in really well. The portion size was a little bit much for us. So, we took the leftover for to-go and enjoyed the food for a second time at home.
The ambience was very inviting and the service was top-notch. If you are here, make sure you try the Dolsot (Korean stone bowl) based dishes to transport you to Korea.
What a great place on Robson St for authentic Korean eats!
We actually tried coming here before but the line-up was too long of a wait. Fortunately we came again during foul weather earlier this month (December 2021) & yay, we got a table without delay. Had to call the restaurant to let them someone know we were outside, as patrons are required to stay outside until a staff member came out to assist. I appreciate the covid protocol (they do check for vax i.ds).
Their great ratings do not lie - the food is comforting and delicious. Portions are good considering the cost. The decor is light and minimal. Their staff are all excellent in friendliness, attentiveness and speed.
The potato pancakes had perfect crisp to it and were very flavourful on their own ~ no sauce really needed. The vegetarian japchae was so satisfying, that we didn’t even miss the meat.
I loved the grilled mackerel the most, not overly cooked, with a softly cooked interior while maintaining a crispy skin. It even came with a small Doenjang Jjigae ~ super flavourful soup broth with bits of beef.
All the ‘appies’ (kimchi, beans, potato salad) were a perfect sample taste. I wonder if I could have asked for more?
The staff were hospitable and quick to serve and clear away.
Decor is modern, minimalistic yet relaxed.
I’m SO looking forward to coming back again!
