We were in the east end at dinner time on Saturday, and we happened to notice a Mexican restaurant, so in we went to Sofi's. The place was about half full when we arrived, and we were able to get a booth at the far corner.
In addition to their regular menu, they had a dozen or so specials up on a big chalkboard. SWMBO selected the Enchiladas de Pollo from the regular menu. She liked the enchiladas; nicely roasted chicken, savoury sauce. What she didn't like was the coleslaw. The cabbage had been pickled somehow, then mixed with diced tomatoes and red onions, and had an unexpected flavour and texture.
I chose one of their specials: Salmon and Shrimp Tacos Trio. I asked and was told that it was three soft tacos, with salmon and shrimp on each. What arrived were three undersized tortillas, with one chunk of grilled salmon and one shrimp on each. It's not a big deal, but I had to bust up the chunk of salmon myself. Also, one of the shrimp was puny. On the plus side, the flavours were okay.
Service was polite.
