Sugar Marmalade is one of the hidden gem in the Yonge & Finch area. They offer wide varieties of desserts and drinks with a reasonable prices. It's definite my go to dessert place. Black Sesame Panna Cotta. You can say this is my all time favourite dessert. It contains many different textures; richness from the black sesame seed ice cream; crunchiness from the corn flakes; chewiness from the mochi; and smooth & creaminess from the panna cotta. All the ingredients work well with each other - the combination is just perfect. There's actually not much flavour from most of the ingredients. The main flavour that you can taste is the rich and nutty black sesame seed ice cream.
This place is small and busy. My friends and I went there, we ordered few different things to shared. My favorite dish is always their mango pudding. 😋
Love this place. Been back a couple times on trips to Toronto and it never disappoints. Great hours for a midnight snack with a really big menu. Although they mostly serve desserts and beverages, they also have some appetizers and entrées that I tried today for the first time. I had the Cheesy Baked Eel on Rice and it tasted amazing - and came out in just over ten minutes, which is incredibly quick. The rice was steamy hot below coated with a thick layer of melted cheese, the eel on top was cooked and seasoned properly, and above all of that was an abundance of bonito flakes and nori strips. My only complaint is that the seating unfortunately was tight; the door swung right into the end of our table. Even still I'd certainly recommend this place if you're down for a huge variety of Taiwanese/Chinese style desserts!
The menu is pretty big. I got the black sesame parfait and the green tea parfait. The green tea parfait was really good. It was the better choice out of the two. They cost at $5.99 each. Next time, I'm going to try their waffles. Too bad they only accept cash.
After dinner at a nearby Dumpling House restaurant, it was time to relax with a hot dessert. This place was still jammed at around 9pm. After a couple of tables left, we sat down staring at all the choices on the menu. They have hot/cold drinks, sago mixes, ice crushes, waffles, cheese cakes, as well as rice dishes. We ended up ordering a mango sago mix and a papaya sago mix. I found my papaya sago mix to be warm instead of hot. The papaya was not that sweet. My friend's mango sago mix was tasty and had lots of mango in it.
Yum!. Service has always been quick and courteous for me. One of the few places to enjoy Taiwanese desserts in the GTA. The best dishes to order have either mango or durian in them! The have awesome sago & crepes. :) I ordered the durian pancake with sundae last time and it was actually two durian filled crepes with a scoop of ice cream on top. So good! :D

First review!!!!!. A new and intelligent creation!!!
THE WHITE TAPIOCA! okay guys don't be disturbed by what I'm about to explain to you what this is!
So as you all know bubble tea only comes with tapioca (black and chewy) BUT this place has created the "white tapioca" which contains yogurt with a good amount that won't make your drink way too sweet to consume. It's kinda fun too because once it enters your mouth you can pop it and allow the yogurt to combine with the drink making a whole new taste!! genius O.O
I haven't tried any of the other food yet but I will definitely go back!!!
What a great name for a dessert-centric spot. Sugar Marmalade is a cafe which serve both sweet and savory Chinese food coupled with delectable drinks. Bubble tea galore in deluxe form and with luxurious names, I found the quality of drinks better than most- having real (and large) taro chunks in my deluxe taro milk tea, fresh fruit in my sago coconut dessert and puree mango in the mango bubble tea. I can't attest to the savory side of the cafe yet, but I was happy to see all the traditional and favorites you would expect at one of these places. One negative was that the cafe itself was really small and narrow. The booths are literally 1/2 meter away from the counter/bar, leaving only enough room to walk to or from the entrance/exit. However, I think they used the space the best they could- after all, it's connected to the Dragon City mall.Besides the quality of drinks, the prices are fair, the service is good, the seating is comfortable, and the buttons at your table really make it easy to get attention.
