Very happy with my visit to Makkal Chon (well, relatively speaking—I went to a funeral immediately following lunch). Nice atmosphere and the service was super friendly and efficient. The food was excellent and the sides were the best I’ve ever had in my many years of eating in Korean restaurants. One of the best experiences I’ve ever had with Korean food. Highly recommended.

I visited this restaurant on 7th April, 2017 and overall it has been an enriching experience for me to try Korean cuisine for the first time. Located at Lawrence Avenue East in Scarborough, the restaurant is situated in a commercial town centre right along an array of small shops which is opposite to a gas station. The ambience is nice although the interior is quite small but cozy with well-lit overhead lamps on each table. The waitresses were friendly and willing to assist in explaining the different food items on the menu. However, service takes long and the good thing is that they serve a lot of complimentary side dishes such as kimchi salads and glass noodles along with the main course. We tried a lot of dishes, chicken in a clear broth and braised pork just to name a few. In a nutshell, that pork dish was an absolute winner for me since it was succulent and tender in texture and so juicy that you couldn't resist ordering an another plate. They also serve a pot of herbal tea which is quite soothing on a rainy day and I think it is customary to drink tea before the main meal according to Korean traditions. The prices are reasonable for the amount they serve and would definitely visit this place the next time I am in town.
Always good but it get busy early evening especially on weekends , friendly service. Has recently been refurbished. Never too long to wait for a table
