We were doing our Forest Hill thing on Saturday, and it was time for lunch, so we wandered down to St Clair, looking for something pub-ish, and we found Piper's. It's a cozy neighbourhood pub, and currently has some promotions going on for the upcoming Robbie Burns day, if you are interested in a meal that includes haggis.
The soup of the day was French Onion, which was something that interested SWMBO, and the pasta special was lunch-sized Chicken Alfredo and Garlic Bread, which also caught her attention, so she was set. The soup appeared to be hearty, with a beef broth that had lots of onions. The cheese topping looked like processed mozzarella slices. Overall it was a good soup, but SWMBO's own is much better. The chicken in her Alfredo was tender, and the Alfredo itself looked and tasted house-made. The pasta was simply spaghetti, which is a bit plain.
I opted with the Saturday special, which was a Half-Rack of Ribs. I also went with the whiskey BBQ sauce that the server recommended. The ribs were good and meaty, and they did fall off the bone very nicely. Alin the the hand cut fries and coleslaw, it was a pretty satisfying lunch.
People friendly, family friendly and good food. Make it a great night out and stop by this warm friendly place - they make a lot of food (and even beer) in house!
Great food, super friendly service and good selection beers and single malts. Comfy experience.
