Sushi Bar

Stopped by for an early dinner - the atmosphere seemed dated and thought the menu was a little tacky, and was worried that the food would lack just as well. Fortunately this wasn't the case and we ordered and thoroughly enjoyed the first round and then ordered some more but this time in abundance wanting more and leaving no grain of rice left behind. My wife is the fish lover and she thoroughly enjoyed the sushi and sashimi meal that she had ordered and found the fish to be fresh and exceptionally tasty. With our bellies full and crying for help we were more than happy and left a higher than normal tip as it was totally well deserved. We have yet to find a sushi place the compares to Japan but this one would be pretty damn close and will return for more in the near future.

Q street date night. My girlfriend and I decided against recomendations to head to west queen for sushi and opted to stay closer to home by eating at the Sushi Bar. BEST idea we had that weekend. Not only were we greated by a friendly staff but also a clean and comfortable environment. The wait staff was prompt but not disruptive. The food was great!! All apps. came when expected with plenty of time to enjoy before our main course. The servings were huge! I can eat quite a bit of sushi myself, but we still had plenty of leftovers for a late night snack. And you MUST try their banana tempura, so delicious! All in all, best sushi experience to date!!

I highly recomend this newly established sushi joint to any suchi lover :)

When it comes to eating Sushi on the eastside of town, your options are pretty limited. While Sushi Marche might hold the crown as being the best place to splurge on a Sushi dinner, I propose that if you go a little further west to Sushi Bar, you are getting the best value on a Sushi lunch anywhere in town (truth be told, their lunch is a better deal than their dinner).Now, no matter where you go for Sushi, it has come to be expected that a Miso Soup and a Green Salad accompany your meal. It’s a given. Sushi Bar takes it one-step further, offering-up Edamame, Noodle Soup and Agedashi Tofu on the house. It’s the little things that make Sushi Bar such a great place.When I am particularly hungry, the Sushi/Sashimi Bento (pictured above) is my go-to. It’s worth every penny, as it comes with 9 pieces of assorted Sashimi, 6 pieces of assorted Sushi, and 8 pieces of California Roll. Not that hungry? The Sushi Lunch 2 comes with 8 pieces of a Spicy Tuna or Salmon Roll and 6 pieces of Sushi, plus all the aforementioned accoutrements for. Oh, and they offer a 10% discount on take-out orders… though you may want to ask for an extra container to hold your soy sauce;)For those who are a little more adventurous, Sushi Bar has over 5 pages of Custom Rolls, each filled to the brim with hockey-puck-sized goodness. On this day we try the Fried Chicken Roll, which is a house variation on the Dynamite Roll… substituting the Shrimp Tempura with Fried Chicken. Amazing! If you’re looking for a Roll and a bit more, the Sushi Lunch 3 comes with an enormous Dynamite Roll and 6 pieces of assorted Sushi.Sushi Bar does more than just Sushi. With the ever-growing popularity of the Izakaya taking root in Toronto, there are a number of Teriyaki, Udon, and Donburi options available, should you be looking for something a little different… not to mention great deals on ice-cold Draft Beer.I’m extremely pleased this place is so close to work. Be it with clients, friends or dining solo, Sushi Bar goes over-and-above your normal Sushi experience, placing it atop my list of where to go for Japanese on Toronto’s eastside.
