This is the de facto standard in Cabbagetown for a greasy spoon. The food portions are good, the service is attentive, even if a bit rough around the edges.
We often go here for breakfast/brunch. However, I've also eaten lunch and it was also delicious.
No frills, good food and an overall great atmosphere of locals and friends.
Love the breakfast at this place. Big portions and cheap prices. Best eggs Benny I have ever tried.
It is what it is, a diner. Don't expect gourmet food. Expect the basics, but done well and cheaply. Two people can eat brunch for $20. You can't beat that.
I had the English Breakfast ($9) which included scrambled eggs, sausages, potatoes and baked beans (w/ coffee and juice included). A tasty breakfast to start your day off right!
Clean, quaint diner. Had breakfast here, and prices are very good and portions generous. East facing storefront opens up completely so the nearest tables are like a covered patio. Perfect breakfast experience on a sunny day.
Great Simple Diner. If your looking for diner food - simplicity - and cheap prices - then you should check this place out.
Good for breakfast. I was in Toronto last weekend and came here for a late breakfast. Coffee was good, service was friendly, my eggs were properly done and I even nabbed street parking nearby. All in all a good experience.
Best place for greasy spoon breakfast. Service here leaves a great impression. The breakfast is pretty cheap and it's better than average. The potatoes are homemade, unlike a lot of places where they're frozen. You either love it or hate it.
Great Food!. A nice place to meet with friends and catch up over a good meal.
Local Cabbagetown greasy spoon Johnny G’s has been serving up eggs over 30 years in the east end. A good bet for a 7 AM cup of coffee over plate of eggs, they give you everything you might want in the morning (including generous portions of peameal might I add) “Hello, Johnny!” Benny’s ready to get his eat on while Vanessa selects her breakfast While you won’t get modern decor or menus that push the breakfast boundaries, what you will get is good food and most importantly friendly service. Can’t go wrong with a little freshly squeezed OJ Spinach Omelette wit homefries Weekends have a special brunch menu with lots of tempting options. 3 eggs sunny side up with home fries and good ol’ Canadian Bacon! Overall, a good place to go if you don’t feel like making breakfast in the morning! Cheers to Johnny! The post Johnny be Good. appeared first on Brunchosaurus .
