Wow!!
What an amazing meal! Every single dish was amazing and we are definitely going back! We left the menue with the only desire of going back and trying everything else that we did not eat last night! Great food, so many flavors and SO fresh! We love Lebanese food and this was for sure better than we could have imagined!
We tried their mocktails and they were amazing! They were an interesting and refreshing blend of sweet, sour and spice. Hubby and I are now encouraged to start mixing cocktails of our own!
Hubby got the Fortune Teller which was made of house coffee syrup, Turkish coffee, lemon juice and tonic.
I had a Mediterranean Mule with house ginger syrup, date syrup, lime, ginger beer and aromatic bitters.
We then shared a sujuk wood-fired pide--a Turkish version of pepperoni pizza. Sujuk is a Turkish dry, spicy sausage while pide is a flatbread baked with toppings. The pide had toppings of Turkish paste, Persian feta and Za'atar (exotic blend of herbs, spices and nuts). The flavours were bright, an interesting twist to our usual pizza.
We also shared an order of Baharat-crusted Wagyu steak. The beautifully-cooked Wagyu was crusted with the aromatic sweet-spice blend and served on top of burnt onion, black garlic and jus. It was quite lovely. We have concluded, however, that the beauty of the Wagyu should not be hidden underneath strong flavours. Note, also, that the steak will not come with sides as those have to be ordered separately. Menu would say it is for sharing, but think of this more as "tapas" instead of big portions.
I recently dined here when I was in Toronto on business. I sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly and helpful with the menu. I took his advice and had the octopus, the short rib kebab, and side of brussel sprouts - all of it was Delicious. He also made a very good drink, but my only complaint is that the martini glasses are tiny- about 1/4 of the size we're used to here in the States. I found in general that alcohol is very expensive in Toronto. But this restaurant is very good and I would recommend it to anyone.
Ohhhhj what a place . Such amazing food and it’s hard when you have to choose just a few dishes . Thankfully we could order quite a number of dishes and also do not forget the desserts .
Too big and too loud otherwise it’s ok
Better overall experiences exist but it’s a good high volume restaurant
Nothing close to quaint
And generic service is what you should expect at best
Amazing food and atmosphere. Very much a dark lounge feel. The dishes are a lot smaller than they look online so you'll want to order 2-3 dishes per person. We ordered: mussels, red beets, octopus, short ribs, dumplings, couscous, fried chicken, lamb ribs and olives. The couscous was a little plain so I would recommend getting a rice dish instead. The artichoke cocktail is fantastic and well balanced. We will definitely be back!
Very creative take on classic middle eastern dishes. Great atmosphere. Very expensive but it's my favourite for special occasions. I recomend the Persian kale rice.
The decor is modern and clean and the dim lighting made it a perfect romantic choice for my date night. I even like the simplicity of their white plates trimmed with that bright mediterranean blue. We ordered a couple of flavourful citrusy mocktails which were very refreshing, but it had more ice than juice, so not totally worth the $7 per drink.
Started with the crispy baby artichoke and eggplant kibbeh. Both were delicious! The kibbeh was a very small portion (only 3 zucchini flowers) for the price, but the artichoke kind of made up for it because it was served with a plate of awesome sesame crusted bread and lots of thick house made yogurt. I really loved the Turkish Manti Dumplings filled with smokey eggplant. The black truffle rice topped with fried onions was also very fragrant and nice, but a tad too salty. We also paired these mains with perfectly roasted brussel sprouts, which could of used a pinch more salt or spice. The wait staff are very attentive. An overall very enjoyable evening. Be prepared to bring your credit card!!!
Lastly, if you want to make your reservation, don't use their 'reservation system'. You will just end up in voice mail hell. So I suggest you reserve online instead and save yourself the wait time on the phone.
I've booked our table 24 hours ahead. The restaurant atmosphere was amazing. The food concept was mixed of middle eastern food (I could see some hint of Persian as well).
Had the best time here! The service and food were both amazing. Our waiter was attentive, fast and helpful. Will definitely be coming back here soon.
