Never tried Popeyes before this visit. The chicken was nothing special but had a good crunch. The fries were overseasoned and too salty. The biscuit was delicious though!
After four years away from America, I was so excited to reunite with a Popeye’s chain. The fried chicken, the buttery biscuits and everything you can smell wafting from the fryers… yes! But alas, it wasn’t quite meant to be, with this experience making it feel so ordinary again. The signature Bonafide change was more “fine”, with the main disappointment being that the chicken wasn’t served hot. In the kitchen it seemed to be sitting in trays (maybe under lamps) but it tasted like it had been fried a while ago. One piece was warmer than the other. The crumb and flavours on the fried chicken were fine. The onion rings were freshly out of the magic machine, though, could have used a bit of sauce. I enjoyed the potato gravy, and especially the biscuit. So some good stuff, some bad, I guess that’s how the biscuit crumbles.
