I agree with Erika V. Delina is a gem!!! Great food, good size portions, wonderful service if you happen to visit the place. You can always order via Uber. We live close to Danforth and checked out enough of the restaurants there to know that they are generally overrated (exception for Mocha Mocha). Delina beats most of them!
Anyone who gave less than 5 stars is a liar.
Home cooked meals for low prices that leave your heart and stomach fulfilled. I always get the falafel plate which is $10 or $11 (I can't remember exactly), and comes with 3 falafel balls plus 3 sides!!! The portions are generous and more than enough.
I'm stuffed for 10 hours afterwards every time. Yes I've actually kept time.
I recommend this spot every time my friends are in the Beaches, and they love it as well.
So authentic, so delicious and super friendly service. Its my go to take away on a hectic night when I dont have time to cook! Delina makes my life easy and the fact her food is so fresh and homemade I know the fam is getting the good stuff!
Great service, excellent falafel, very reasonable prices.
Favourite place in the Beaches. When I started working in the Queen/Woodbine area last year, I was distraught with the lunch selections -- bland, uncultured, expensive -- until, that is, I found Delina.
What a gem this place is! One of the few in the city I'm truly happy to support as an independently run establishment with fantastic service. The food is a thrill too. More than you'd find at your usual shwarma place: beet salad, chick pea salad, hot veggies, bulgur, spinach, fish, lentil soup. The amount of healthy variety for a meal under $7 is astounding.
If you're a sandwich connoiseur, I can vouch for the falafel. It's delicious yet much less dense than most ones I have. I sometimes prefer more grainy, homemade-feeling falafels, but with with this you won't feel like you abused your stomach after the meal (unless you go crazy with the sauce). I can't speak personally for the meat, but I have a co-worker who's in love with the chicken schwarma.
Lastly, the drink selection is excitingly unique: agave nectars, coconut juice, strawberry malt beverages, it goes on. Really splendid stuff on a summer's day. Your conventional pop and water are there too, of course.
This is cheap, healthy food with taste and variety. The more I think of it, it's probably one of my go-to places in the entire city, let alone the Beaches. If you haven't, check out Delina!!!
The best shwarma in Toronto!! It is addictive. They always have a great selection of fresh, healthy foods. Their salads (tabbouleh, beet salad, lentils, etc) are very tasty. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Good shwarmas, great vegetable sides. I recommend Delina @ Woodbine and queen (if driving then park in the gas station opposite.) for their shwarma and vegetable dishes.
The owners are ethiopian, they take care making the shwarmas. I regularly have chicken, which is never greasy & ask them to add tabouli to the filling. There is great selection of side order vegetable dishes involving big beans, okra in sauce, beets, I've had each of these and so should you - they are very good and, in my view what make this place better than others in the area. Also try the meat and vegetable samosas, reasonably priced with whole spices in them. Decor is basic, but, hey, it's a shwarma shop. I hope it stays, the strip where it is has a high turnover
Amazing!!. Delina's in the Beaches is the best restaurant we have tried in a REALLY long time. We went twice this weekend alone, FRESH food - and excellent quality. The staff is amazing as well. Very delicious and the prices are amazing. I hope this places stays around for a LONG time! can't wait to go back!
It's all about the food at Delin's. Lovingly prepared, fresh and tasty at very reasonable prices, Best falafel I've ever had, possibly because of theire 'secret' ( ie garlic) sauce. the staff are some of the sweetest you will ever experience at a take-out counter.
