This is a long overdue review I had pending! I remember how hot it was that day I was at Dolce Gelato!š It was a beaming hot summer day and what better way too defeat the heat than to have some yummy cold gelato -right?š¤ In short and to keep this review sweet. The variety was grand at Dolce Gelato. With an abundance of flavors to choose from. Please pardon my memory but I think I selected the guava and coconut and my friend had the chocolate and cookies and cream that day.š¤ The gelato was smooth and the flavors were satisfying. It was a refreshing treat on a hot summer day! I will definitely return back to Dolce Gelato
again upon another hot summer day! š§šØš¦
Nice gelateria in the heart of Kensington. Place is bigger than it looks; the gelati (and sorbetti) are accompanied by a modest selection of baked treats and coffee. They have a number of options for lactose intolerant including frozen yogurt (delish) as well as sorbetto that taste thick/rich/almost creamy. A real gem!
The place is bigger than it seems and can accommodate close to 20 persons at a time. The counter was very crowded owing to weekend but the staff were active and very helpful. After tasting a couple of flavours settled for raspberry and pistachios. The texture of gelato was smooth and light.Definitely worth the buck paid.
I'm a connoisseur of hazelnut and pistachio. Their hazelnut is heavenly, but their candied pistachio is slightly strange and tastes artificial (probably because its "candied" pistachio). Their dark chocolate gelato is very dense and not as light as the hazelnut. Overall very good experience.
the waiter there are very friendly and helpful. they didn't have a drink menu. so just ask him for what you want, coffee, tea, or anything you want. also try the biscuit, hard to chew but very Italian style. the ice cream looks very attractive i will definitely try some next time!
Dolce Gelato is so damn good. This location is spotted on the corner of Augusta Ave in Kensington Market. The place is much larger than it looks on the outside and has a nice coffee shop feel. As soon as you walk in, the gelato seems to call out to you. The flavors are all so good looking that it makes it hard to choose. Luckily they let you sample.
I got the Coco and Oreo as my two flavors and couldn't be happier. The coco was a wonderfully sweet and smooth ice cream that had a strong coconut flavor for those that love it. The gelato here is so damn smooth. It's the perfect consistency for me and tasted as though it was just spun right there for me.Ā
The gelato flavors are so colorful and appealing that it makes it hard not to want to get all of them! The sizes and prices are very good too. Service is friendly and the place is a nice spot to sit and chat up with friends. Especially good for people watching. There are lots of eclectic personalities walking around Kensington...
Definitely one of the best gelato I've had! They have a lot of varieties and let you try as many as you want! Their espresso flavor is out of the world! Even in the small cup they let you take two flavors! Slightly on the pricey side.. But their serving size is generous and it's worth every penny!
Gelato has no seasons even in the middle of Winter. Ā Dolce Gelato is a key place to try. Ā I was looking for a dessert place in the Kensington Market and this is my place. Ā The person behind the counter was very welcoming and helpful among the myriad of choices. Ā Lots of flavors that you can have in small (1 flavor), medium (2 flavors), and large (3 flavors). Ā Of course you also can have waffle cones yet you have to eat it quickly if it melts on you.
Besides that, there is a nice variety of cake that you can have instead together with a lovely coffee.
A good sign of a quality establishment is choice options that make you want to come back or that you look forward to try. Ā For me, I am definitely having either the Affogato which is a shot of espresso and a scoop of gelato on top! Ā The other option is either a crepe or waffle...again with gelato on top.
Finally, the numerous flavors should allow you to try different ones every time.
Dolce Gelato also has a location on College St in Little Italy as well as the Danforth.
Love that theyre open late hours. The flavours if gelato are varying and all delicious as well as their sorbets. The service is hit and miss though. My girlfriend lives nearby, and sometimes I bring her gelato at home. They don't have take out lids or containers for their smaller sizes, but depending on who is working, someone will either nicely saran wrap the top for me and put everything in a paper bag.... Or give me stank face.
Although it has been a rainy summer, the hot August days still find their way in somehow, leaving Torontonians looking for a sweet escape. Dolce Gelato in Kensington Market offers just that, and with over 60 flavours of rich, creamy gelato, you canāt go wrong.
The newest of three Dolce Gelato locations, this Kensington Market cafe located at 234 Augusta Ave. offers a warm atmosphere for guests to enjoy their sweet treats. Aside from their diverse selection of Italian ice cream, they also offer drinks from regular coffee and cappuccino, to fruity smoothies and specialty drinks.
Other Italian desserts are also available, with choices like red velvet cake or apple and pecan pie, to some of the more Italian influenced desserts like cannoli and pastries. Guests looking to get the best of both worlds can order freshly made crepes and waffles, each topped with a scoop (or three!) of gelato.
