Pig Out Bbq

Saw it on “You gotta eat here” so we had to try it. Located in the Spadina neighbourhood. Staff is very friendly, the owner himself prepared our order when I mentioned that I saw the restaurant on the show the server introduced us to him. We had ordered the Pulled Pork Tacos 🌮 and a 1lbs of the Memphis Sweet flavoured wings. Both were very good but I’m definitely returning to try other flavours of the wings and their ribs. I recommend this restaurant for BBQ 🍖.

Lively, fun atmosphere and great for takeout.
The bbq is full of flavour and the menu has enough variety to please everyone.

Though my favourite there have been the Carolina spicy wings, other things seem to have been improving (in favour of my taste buds anyway)! My new flavour for wings is the roasted red (hot?) pepper - Andrew Currie got it and as I tasted it, it seemed like it was made spicier than normal.. and when asked, they said that they upped the spice... It's like a Frank's Red Hot now - tangy and spicy. Also, the ribs have been getting better - read: meatier. Not sure whether they've just sourced meatier ribs or what - but it's gotten way better from a few months ago. Flavour is good too - I feel the sauce is unnecessary, even (though that's just me - I like things drier).

Very good BBQ with the homemade feel that sets it apart from anyone else doing pulled pork and ribs.

Another big selling point is that they have not only personal meals but platters as well. Perfect for dine-in or take out.  Reasonably priced (for Canada) with fast, friendly service.

Patio season is sadly over with the weather getting colder everyday but that doesn't mean you can't have your BBQ ribs! Pig Out BBQ , a popular BBQ joint offering affordable and delicious BBQ ribs, wings, briskets and more. Lucky for us Torontonians, they just opened a new location on Spadina Ave. at Harbord St.! You will immediately notice the store front with wooden banner with their signature pig logo. Because of the location, the lunch crowd is mostly U of T students and at dinner time, there's a lot of takeouts for the local residents.  Of course, you can dine in as well as their space is pretty big and cozy for a BBQ joint with a newly installed fireplace and a big screen TV. Chris, the owner of Pig Out BBQ, started out in the food industry working in the kitchen but left to work in sales. The corporate world wasn't for him and his love of food eventually led him to start his own business with Pig Out BBQ. We wanted to try a little big of everything so Chris recommended the Pig Out Platter : Ribs, smoked sausage, pulled pork, wings, beef brisket with coleslaw, pickles as well as large trimmings: mac'n cheese & fries (double fried) The Pig Out Platter is recommended for 2-4 people, depending on how much each person can eat. We weren't able to finish it all but did a fairly good job!  Our favorites from the platter were the ribs and wings. Ribs are a great size with a delicious rub and it's not over boiled to be fall-off-the-bone, which is good. A tip for those that love spiciness, take advantage of their house made hot sauce as well (on every table)! With their own smoked in the kitchen, all the smoking is done in-house so if you're in a carnivorous mood for BBQ meats, give this place a try.
