I really loved it ..the atmosphere , food and quick service added to the positive experience ..looking forward to returning and trying other things on the fabulous menu..my one complaint would be the flan which i found to be watery and a bit mushy but otherwise everything was delicious

We were in the mood for something middle-eastern for dinner, and we found Mezzetta on the Zomato app. It turned out that we were pleasantly surprised by our dining experience.Ā

First of all, Mezzetta is a tapas-style restaurant, where all of their dishes are appetizer-sized. There are 40 items on the menu, grouped into salads, purees and dips, vegetables, meat and fish. They recommend 5 dishes per person, and for two people and ten dishes, the price is $40. You can also order separate dishes for $4.10 each. Desserts and drinks are priced separately. For us, the 10 dishes was just right for a filling and satisfying meal.

To order your food, they provide a piece of paper and a pencil, and you simply write the number of the dishes, and hand it to the server.

We chose two items from the Salads menu. The first was the Mediterranean Garden, with diced cucumber, tomato and green onion, dressed with parsley, olive oil and lemon juice. A refreshing, traditional, middle-eastern salad. The second was the Moroccan Carrot, with steamed carrots and chickpeas, dressed with dill and something minty. There was just a little crunch left in the carrots.

At the Purees and Dips menu we made just one stop: Houmous. Smooth, almost creamy, with a pleasant blend of spices. They also provided a couple of warmed up pitas (one white, one whole wheat), which we used to scoop up the houmous.

From the Vegetable menu we had three items. First up was the Fantastic Falafel, which had three large falafel balls that were lightly crispy on the outside, and soft and warm on the inside, just the way they should be. They were dressed with a smooth tahini. Next was the Fried Yams, which were essentially sweet potato fries, but with a twist: there were also some sauteed, thin strings of onion, adding a bit of sweetness to the dish. Last item in this group was the Spinach Boureka, which was served in a puff pastry, which looked a little bit like eggrolls, covered in sesame seeds.

In the Meat and Fish group we had four dishes. The first was Kofta, served as three meatballs made out of spiced, minced beef, in a tomato sauce. Soft and savoury. Then was the Chicken Shish, which included two skewers of marinated chicken. While the taste was good, the chicken was a bit dry, and crumbled a bit when removed from the skewer. It was easier to take bites directly from the skewer. Next was the Slow Shrimp; again, two skewers, each with three marinated, grilled shrimp. Our final choice was the Beef Sambousak, which looked a bit like mini beef patties. They were dressed with a variant of tzatziki that they call mezzikki.Ā

We loved the variety, we loved the flavours. At $20 a person, it was very reasonably priced.

Loved it. We were a group of 8. Ordered the 6 persons set menu. Food was great and quantities were just right.
Owner and waitress were super friendly.
Will definitely come again.

An amazing gem. On a cool fall night, we were looking for a lighter dinner, and this hit the spot perfectly. There were a variety of dishes, with a good balance of vegetables & meat choices. The lamb skewers were tender and succulent; the Sultan's stew of hearty vegetables was warm and comforting. The sausages were bursting with flavour, and I used the pita to make a hotdog wrap; amazing. We stumbled upon the Monday night special, $3.50 for one dish, $1.50 for every second one. The dinner was surprisingly filling, 10 dishes between the 2 of us was a steal. Even without the deal, it would have been $32 for 10 dishes, Definitely will go back.

An all-time favourite. I've been visiting Mezzetta on a regular basis for almost 20 years now - basically, ever since I was old enough to chew! It is by far one of my favourite restaurants in Toronto. I love being able to order many different tiny dishes, and try something new every time. Their bourekas are amazing, and they have the best hummus and falafel that I've ever tried.

It's cheap enough that I can afford it, even as a university student, yet nice enough that I could take a date there. I tend to get a variety of little "mezze" dishes and a giant pitcher of pink lemonade. They also do take-out, which is equally great. In 20 years of frequent visits, I have no complaints.

Best place in the neighbourhood for small, shared plate food. Influences go well beyond Greece to include other Mediterranean cuisines. Look for daily deals.
