Best Korean food we’ve had anywhere, been back six times now!
Best Korean food we’ve had anywhere, and the bi bim bap is over the top delicious. Everything including the selection of amazing sauces at the table, the kimchi, dumplings, etc is all as totally authentic as it gets and made from scratch. The service is consistently excellent. Choice of brown or white rice, gluten free and vegetarian options, amazing stone bowls made in Korea that stay smoking hot for almost an hour, etc. Combine the amazing food with the excellent service and fair prices and you’ve got a consistently five star dining experience that you can’t go wrong on.
Pretty darn good. Not the best stone bowl meal I've had. But it was enjoyable. I had the beef and mushroom rice dish. My favourite part was the variety of sauces they give you. Very cool. And the cinnamon water at the end was enjoyable.
Wow! The best Bi Bim Bap I've ever had! They have 5 different sauces ranging from mild to very hot, to go with your meal. Clean restaurant, good menu, friendly staff! I highly recommend this place!
I've always loved good old Bi Bim Bap, and seeing a sign that carries the name of the dish made me swerve to get a parking spot right outside. This is a little cute shop right on the street. Simple and no frills. Ordered the double beef stone bowl, and my husband had the beef and mushroom. We didn't exchange a single word throughout...it was that good. If you're up for some comfort food, nothing beats a hot steaming hot bowl of rice with something!
Very nice. The food is fresh. Errything I had here was good good good! I luv the blue soju drink n kimchi fries. And the bowls are huge!
Good location and delicious food. Must check it out!!!
Perfect! Great location, reasonably priced and fantastic food and presentation.
Yummy. The food is uniquely Korean yet not so traditional. This restaurant serves traditional dishes with a twist of not so traditional ingredients which enhances the taste greatly.
The appetizers are like experiments gone right. Fusions like sauces on traditionally Korean dishes make the eating experience stimulating.
Bi Bim Bap could very well be the first Korean swanky restaurant in Toronto.
My second visit to Bi Bim Bap, a relatively new Korean restaurant on Eglinton near Bathurst. I loooove dolsot bibimbap, so an entire restaurant devoted to bibimbap has my name written all over it. We started with the Korean tacos — Korean BBQ Beef, Radish and Kimchi in 6 mini taco shells. Cannot believe this is only $4.99 I ordered the BEEF bibimbap w/ brown rice & egg – Korean BBQ Beef stir fried with Onion, Cabbage, Carrot, Red Pepper and Green Onion. They do not charge extra for brown rice, yahoo! The vegetables are not quite what I’d like in my bibimbap; I don’t like onions, red peppers, or green onions. I’d rather have the more traditional ingredients of spinach, carrots, and bean sprouts. Husband ordered the chicken bibimbap — I forgot to take a picture. I went to this restaurant when they first opened but for some reason, I never went back. This often happens for no other reason than my perpetual curiosity to keep trying new restaurants.
However, a few weeks ago I dined at Bi Bim Bap…. 3 times in one week. I initially went with a friend who has mulitple allergies (and they were all too accommodating) and then returned with my boyfriend and then returned again when my mom was visiting from Ottawa. It also helps that this restaurant is less than a kilometre from my apartment!
Bi Bim Bap is located on Eglinton between the Allen and Bathurst. It looks like this from the outside.
When you sit down, you will notice a little red “call button” which comes in handy when you want to ask the waitress a question or need something!
What sets this restaurant apart (besides the call button) from other Bi Bim Bap restaurants that I’ve been to?
-They are totally understanding when it comes to allergies. Infact there’s NO shellfish in any of their dishes.
-The quality of the food is outstanding. You might be paying a few dollars extra but it’s worth it.
-The owner, Sam and his staff are super friendly.
-My food (which arrives in stone bowl) was still STEAMING 20 minutes after it arrived at the table. Seriously.
What did I order?
MUSHROOM BI BIM BAP - A mix of 9 different varieties of mushrooms, stir fried (TO PERFECTION) and served on top of Bi Bim Bap vegetables. ($13.99). There are other varieties on the menu but I prefer the vegetarian option. Go figger.
I hope you get a chance to check out this restaurant one day soon. It’s a neighbourhood favorite for a good reason!
