Wasn't in the mood for pho, so we tried the BBQ pork bún and BBQ boneless chicken drumstick and BBQ pork com. Both were flavourful, but the BBQ was quite syrupy sweet. The sweetness overpowered the lemongrass, making the meat a single note of flavour. Unfortunate as the meat itself was good quality and both dishes were clearly prepared with care. Will return to try the pho next time and revise my rating accordingly if the experience differs.
I liked this place...went here with a classmate as we are both not feeling well. I got on the side shrimp on a sugar cane (my favorite ), but it wasn't minced enough and didn't have the taste I was used to. I had the chicken Pho and she had the rare beef. I don't like having the darker more chewier side of the chicken...so that kinda disappointed me there and my friend didn't get nearly enough beef and it came fully cooked where she asked for it to be rare...we know it cooked in the soup but anyway I would definitely go again since it's closer to school.
I go to MiMis weekly and it is delicious good at an affordable price. The family run restaurant has the warmest hospitality and service. Favourite atypical Vietnamese dishes are the Spicy Lemongrass chicken and Curry Chicken soup.
DIY platters!. We were here just a couple of weeks ago for a quick weeknight dinner. We were a little put-off by the bare-bones decor at first, but once we tasted the food we w quickly became MiMi converts. Ordered a "do-it-yourself platter", a big bowl of pho, and some spring rolls to start with. Spring rolls weren't the best I've ever had, but they arrived very quickly and were amazingly hot and crispy. DIY platter blew my mind -- so fresh, tasty, and filling! You dip the rice papers in water and then fill with grilled meats, vermicelli noodles, carrots, cucumbers, sprouts, basil and mint. Pho was nice too, with all the fixings. Total came in around 25-30 dollars for dinner for two. Can't beat that.
You must try their do it yourself platters!. If you want to try something different, then order the do it yourself platter. I always choose the sausage platter because it is so delicious! They give you rice paper thins that you have to soak in warm water to soften them up and then "you"put all the toppings that you want in your roll so each one is custom made to your liking. Kind of like making a fajita but with grilled meat and veggies and vermicelli noodles. Quite healthy and delicious!!
Do yourself a flavour favor and go here right now. Honestly the best Vietnamese grilled goodness from some of the friendliest people you would ever want to meet. Eaten here over a 100 times and have NEVER been disappointed... For a price that you won't believe. Great value, great taste, kind service. A bit slow during rush but worth every minute you wait. Do the Pho. It's out of this world. 47 or 48.
Truly Wonderful. Mi Mi is a fantastic restaurant with fantastic food and fantastic service. I first went to Mi Mi about 4 months prior to writing this review and have been back almost every week since.
The staff are always friendly, and will answer any of your questions about their food. The service is quick and the food is inexpensive.
Every time I go to Mi Mi I get the #01 (Spring rolls) and #121 (Do it yourself Combo Platter) the 121 is an awesome combo of beef pork and shrimp along with a selection of veggies and herbs. The platter comes with rice papers and you make your own fresh rolls, they are absolutely delicious.
My standard order (for two) costs $25 after tax and tip.
Mi Mi is a must try!
Well as others have suggested you are not here for fine dining ambience. If you're here, and you should be, it's for the best pho in Riverdale. But also try the BBQ pork - great flavours.

Viet.... We had a couple "Bun" type dishes, great flavours in the meat. Don't visit for the ambiance, just go for good food.
