This review of Tappo Wine Bar is based on a wedding I attended here in October.
A small intimate wedding dinner/celebration for around 100 guests. Tappo staff was just so wonderful the whole evening providing all the guests with excellent service.
I was a little skeptical when I found out the dinner was not set up as a fixed menu but with choices for App and Main for each individual guest. But ended up the service was fast and food was excellent. My steak was cooked perfectly Medium Rare and so was my tablemate that requested to have his Medium Well.
The after dinner party was held inside the main dining area and the dinner was held underneath a tent in their patio area worked like a charm.
And the drinks at the bar was well prepared much better than other drinks I had at wedding in a banquet hall.
Definitely recommend if you want to set up a private event at Tappo. You and your guests will have so much fun!
Went here for a Valentine's Day dinner - a very romantic, charming little italian cuisine restaurant nestled in one of the original Gooderham & Worts distillery buildings. Interior is decorated beautifully with some whimsical accents.
Heads up this resto is a little small - I found I was sitting a bit closer to other patrons than normal, but no big deal.
Had a steak dinner that was pretty delicious - service was fast and friendly.
They have a really dope patio that sits in front of the main square of the distillery (along with facing what locals have termed "The Eggbeater" art installation). A very neat place to eat and be seen (or see). One of the well established restaurants in the Distillery that you should visit at least once!
Fantastic ! My husband and I went for Winterlicious dinner. Service was great, the space was warm and cozy and the food was excellent. Cooked perfectly and very tasty. Would definitely recommend.
This is a fantastic place. Great food, great wine, great ambiance and great service. Please please please all you coupon buying todler bringing bad reviewers DO NOT SHOW UP! This is not a place for you. If you are a couple or group of ADULTS pleas do go to Tappo. You will not be disappointed!
Great food!. We came here with the 3-course dinner coupon expecting to get subpar service, instead it was the opposite. Though they were busy the service was still good. We had the tastiest arancini and the trout (or was it salmon, can't remember) was amazing. They are pricey, had it not for the coupon we probably wouldn't have gone, but the quality of their food is right up there.
Very Good. Getting my review a bit late this place is great as it provides a nice atmosphere and food is just fantastic. For all dinners looking for authentic italian, great wine list.
Tappo is the place to go. Loved their pastas. It was great experience will be back.
Romantic and enjoyable dinner. We got a coupon for a 3-courses meal. Love the ambiance. We share one appetizer - grilled zucchini, buffalo mozzarella, basil, cherry tomatoes. I love the lemon chili dressing to go with it. Then we share the seafood risotto. I can taste the freshness of the clams. Then I order rainbow trout as main. It cooked perfectly, crispy outside and tender inside. My partner's peppercorn crusted 8oz beef tenderloin tastes delicious too. It is juicy and tender! We'll definitely go there again!

Very positive & memorable experience. My husband and I decided to go here for a long overdue "date" and we're so happy we did. Has reservations for a Saturday night at 8pm and our table was ready for us. The space is gorgeous inside with exposed brick, old wine barrels & copper piping across the ceiling. We felt like we were in Old Montreal or someplace in Europe. The staff were very friendly but it was obvious they were super busy. But what restaurant isn't at that time? We didn't mind. Our glasses were always topped up and we had fresh bread to start. My husband ordered grilled calamari & I had the baby arugula salad to start. Both were delicious. He ordered the special, rack of lamb and I went for a house favourite, Bucatini pasta. Both dishes were divine & exquisite! Best food we've had in a long time. The timing of the food was perfect too. For dessert, we shared the bread pudding. Best bread pudding I've ever had. Tappo was a memorable place for us which made our date a perfect one. Will definitely go back. Reservations is a MUST.
Lovely evening. We just came back from Tappo's where we had a lovely dinner using a Dealicious coupon. The service was prompt and attentive. We were seated right away for out 7,30 res, and shortly had our wine. My wife and I shared a carpaccio, and she, a carpaccio fanatic, declared it among the best she ever had. We followed this with pasta dishes, She had the tortellini which she pronounced as good, but not great. I had the tagliatelle toppded with quail, and it was excellent, with the quail having a lovely smoky flavour.
I need to point out MY SUSPICIONS. four of the negative reviews below me are first time reviewers who registered the day they wrote their review. COINCIDENCE??? Also not that the positive reviewers have over 20 reviews each. In other words, I suspect sabotage.
Atmosphere & Service. Food was good too, but what i really remember was the atmosphere and service that came along with it that made this place a new jem in my books.
