My wife and I really enjoyed Sorrel restaurant. The atmosphere was comfortable, we had a window seat and enjoyed the people watching. The service was excellent, very attentive, and friendly. There is plenty of choice on the menu, we had the hanger steak and the veal scallopini, both delicious. Sorrel is definitely a recommend.
Enjoyed an excellent meal here. The menu has choices that will satisfy most people and the food was better than I expected. I had scallops which were cooked perfectly. The wine list is very good. Service was reminiscent of a good restaurant in Paris, not personal but crisp and very professional. Across from Scrivener Square, the room is comfortable and even when full we could enjoy a conversation at normal voice level. It's pricey but it seems very popular with the Rosedale crowd. Nice for a very civilized meal.
I had my bday dinner here with my friends and was blown away by the service (Barry rocks!) food, and decor. The restaurant is so pretty and designed to feel like you're at home, and a really nice home.
We had a group of 12 and Barry had no issues keeping up with the drinks and food. And the food, we expected the prices to be a lot higher but was pleasantly surprised to find it quite reasonable and the portions were generous to boot!
I would encourage you to try the Buttermilk Marinated Fried Baby Chicken. The cornish hen was crispy on outside and tender on the inside. And the Truffle honey it was served with was heavenly.
Our group was probably a bit livelier than the rest of their clientele and they were most likely relieved when we left. Most of the patrons looked to be over 50 years old. Don't let that deter you from trying this place out though. It's a great date place and/or a perfect place to impress your parents. I'll definitely be back!
