Fantastic coffee house! Great staff, phenomenal housemade baked goods. The best place for the best coffee in Kensington Market.
Fika have a charm you can't deny. A cute little coffee shop with a nice decoration, relax atmosphere and delicious coffee. I loved the wall full of book, the beautiful horse shaped cookies and the staff who do your best to served you as fast as possible with a smile.
Good for students or a first date!
Visited today and really enjoyed it! The oat latte I had was absolutely delicious, super foamy and creamy. My breakfast sandwich was super good too and reasonably priced. The seating was limited but we were able to get a good spot. Service was good though there was only one girl so it was a bit slow. Bathroom was single stall which is great! Not accessible though
Got to know this place from YouTube video about the best coffee shop in Toronto. Very cute cafe and friendly staff. Ordered Cortado with Oat milk. I was very impressed on how smooth, deep, round the taste of the coffee and the creamy mouth feel made it to be a perfect cup! I also had the vegan carrot crumble to go (muffin? Forgot what it actually called), it had lots of warm spices to the taste and aroma, not too sweet which I liked. Texture was soft (fresh, not stale). I would enjoy it better with a cup of espresso next time round. I look forward to visiting again and try other different unique drinks from the menu. Highly recommend this place.
This is a super cute little cafe in Kensington Market. I was most looking forward to trying the swedish cinnamon buns, as cinnamon buns are my jam, but I was so disappointed. They were really bland and lacking in any flavour other than a lot of cardamom and just a bit of cinnamon. I like my cinnamon buns soft and ooey gooey with lots of cinnamon flavour, and this was not it.
The saving grace here was the coffee, and I would give them a 5/5 on that front. The cardamom latte was definitely something to write home about, and I would come back just for that.
An adorable coffee shop close to Kensington market. The drinks were great and you can get something a little more creative than the usual cafe options. The Elderberry lemonade was super refreshing!
No cash
My favourite hot chocolate in the city as well as a great selection of coffee beans! Also, they sell their super yummy cardamom cinnamon buns frozen for you to bake at home. I UberEats’d a pack of these during a quarantine once, and it helped get me through. And finally, the staff here are always so friendly. This place is a gem!
I actually waited a whole year for fika to have their semla buns again! These buns are only offered from January to easter and all I can say, the wait was worth it!
The buns when you first bite into it feels like a normal bready bun, and then the whipping cream starts to make it a little better and then you hit that thick layer of almond frangipane and that bun with all three elements was the perfect bite! This would definitely be a happy Easter if I had these buns every day!
The decor of the coffee shop is very “ikea” like which further emphasizes the Swedish lifestyle. And that is something I could go into every day as well!
Service was on point. Patient and a nice roast of beans as well. Really smooth and will definitely be back again for the coffee throughout the year! If I have to wait another year for those semla buns, I’m definitely waiting for that return!
Great job overall!

FIKA is a local gem in Kensington market that sells delicious coffee and baked treats. I was admittedly late to the game in discovering this cafe that serves great unique drinks like cardamom lattes and lavender white hot chocolate. If you like the warmth of spice, I highly recommend the cardamom spiced latte with either oat milk or the Sproud pea milk, which is equally delicious hot or iced!
FIKA sells tasty cookies and cinnamon buns, and other products that go well with coffee, like flavoured honeys, jams, milk alternatives, and coffee making paraphernalia.
They have porch seating in front of the cafe, to take in the bustling Kensington activities, but also have a quieter courtyard in the back with plenty of space for physical distancing. Check out the literary wall en route to the back patio which is covered floor to ceiling in books and written works.
My cortado was perfect and the cardamom chai latte was pretty great too. Milk texture for both drinks was just right. Only enough room for 4 people in the cafe for dine in right now, so we took our drinks to go. One thing to note is that the cafe is not AODA compliant. Access is via a steep set of stairs so be warned.
