Great Q. As a bbq competitor, I appreciate the high standards that the staff puts into the food. Tried 5 meats and all were amazing. Was nice to see brisket point on the platter instead of slices from the flat. Rubs were nice and peppery. Chicken was moist and lightly smoked. Side ribs were competition tender with a slight tug on the bone. I highly recommend. Just a short hike from downtown.
This place has the best bbq, if not the best food overall, in the city. I've lived in Toronto for 10+ years, and I eat around a lot due to work. I also go to Austin, Texas on a yearly basis for vacation. This is authentic Texas BBQ. Literally, it competes with the food we gravitate to while we're down south, people who have devoted generations to perfecting their craft.
The food is a tad pricey, but this is to be expected for this kind of quality. We had the brisket, the sausage and the pulled pork, and we were blown away. The meat was perfect, fall apart on the fork. The sausage was spicy and the pulled pork was incredible. The artisinal cocktails are a little pricey, but impeccably blended and very generously poured. The sides are interesting takes on the classics, the beans in particular were fantastic, as were the homemade pickles.
The venue is welcoming, if a tad small, but the hardwood and brick motif is utterly charming, with a large patio area out back. They have live music events, and do catering and private functions.
This is the top of my "you gotta try this" list from now on. 10 outta 10, will eat again. As often as possible.
We have visited more than a few times as this has become a favourite when we are craving some good BBQ and can’t head to the southern US. We usually order by the pound from what’s on offer on the chalkboards and sit down to take our time and enjoy. We are big fans of the brisket and ribs, but have tried all the items at some point. It’s a nice casual and informal evening to enjoy a good meal. It definitely gets busy on weekends but they do have take out.
We hired Cherry St BBQ to cater our wedding. We went to the restaurant to do the tasting which was what sold us immediately on the food. The owner, Lawrence, and his staff are the nicest people I've ever dealt with and were very accommodating and flexible. So nice and helpful were they that when our wedding cake arrived toppled (made by another vendor) Lawrence ordered a replacement and took care of the situation for us without adding stress to our night.
BBQ definitely can be a subjective taste depending on the person, but there is no doubt Lawrence puts a lot of pride and effort into his food. The brisket and ribs are excellent, the best I've ever had. These guys have my vote not just for their taste but their great customer service.
This unassuming place on the corner of T&T was a big surprise for us. Stepped in for lunch and ordered briskets, ribs and pulled pork. The beans accompaniment added the glamour to the pulled pork.
Simply brilliant juicy soft ribs that fell out of the bones! It was awesome! The pulled pork was spicy, brilliantly made; the briskets were soft and tender.
The patio has a great setting; perfect for that summer evening!
Overall taste: brilliant
Service: great
Bar available
Free parking on the street
Free wifi
Overall:
Great casual patio for the summer. Live music on the Friday I was there. Quick service and friendly staff. Ordered the half rack, brisket, and home fries. The best was the brisket; very well seasoned and very moist. Would go back.
Super delicious BBQ place!!! All the meats were beautifully cooked. The sides were incredible! Potatoes wedges were just perfect! Loved everything! The Bloody Caesar was icing on the cake! Gotta love this Canadiana cocktail!
I've been wanting to try this BBQ joint for a long time but just never made it down since I'm never in the area. Thankfully this changed a couple of weeks ago when a couple of friends suggested we head down.
As usual we ordered too much food but loved every bite. Apart from this epic meat platter we also ordered their smoked wings, fried chicken legs, fried cauliflower, cornbread, and mac and cheese. The platter was packed with pork ribs, pulled pork, smoked chicken, brisket, and a half pound of burnt ends. I'm not a big fan of pork but I was blown away by the ribs and pulled pork. But the star of the show was that brisket. It was absolutely delicious, tender and full of flavour. The burnt ends were just as good.
Delicious food, good customer service and friendly people, what's not to love about Cherry Street BBQ? We'll definitely be back!
My first experience here was very good. I've always wanted to try this place every time I was in the area and I finally had an opportunity to try it out! Been to a few BBQ spots but this was by far the best. Also a great option in the summer as they have a patio. If you're looking for a great BBQ spot in Toronto, it's definitely worth a visit. If you’re not up for dining in they also offer take out. Highly recommend and would visit again.
Located in a historic building in the middle of a massive construction site (WaterfronTORONTO), Cherry Street Bar-B-Que is literally a hidden gem. The space itself has a lot of character and history. We ordered the Small Sampler. And boy that name was a deception. It had a generous portion of proteins. The brisket was the star with a perfect smoke ring. The pulled pork and spare ribs were full of flavour. The baked beans with chick peas was unlike anything we'd had before. The corn bread (which was extra $) was a tad small for the price.
Service was excellent. We will definitely be back.
First time here. Came during covid 19 but dine in was available. Great tasting bbq, nice smoke rings. You have to order and pay first then they give you a number and bring the food to you where you are sitting. Waitress was nice and friendly. Definitely will return in the future and also highly recommend to those who like good old fashioned bbq!
There isn't much that will bring you around the area where this place is, until you try some of their BBQ.
As is the case with most BBQ places, the brisket is the star of the show and the item that you absolutely must try. It's moist, tender, flavourful, and leaves you wanting more, even when you feel super full. That being said, the other meats on the menu are also spectacular and you should definitely try them. I also got the ribs and pulled pork, and they were great additions to the brisket.
In terms of sides, I really have to recommend the mac and cheese. Super tasty and a great accompaniment to the meats. The coleslaw isn't the best I've had, but the mac and cheese was solid.
Stop reading this and go get some BBQ.

Stopped here before a work event and I wasn't disappointed. Food is tasty and service is outstanding. I highly recommend the Frito Pie and the little sliders with a side of BBQ sauce.
Ate here with my partner on Canada Day and was completely blown away over how delicious it was! I ordered the fried chicken drumsticks and sausage and both were incredibly tasty. I can honestly say that I've never had such good bbq style food like this. I'll definitely be returning next time I'm in the area 😌
Unfortunately the ribs were sold out by ~7pm on the Saturday that we visited, but what was available was all very good. Our favorite item by far was the brisket though, which was incredibly tender and juicy.
They had 3 washrooms. 2 of them were out of service and the one remaining was clogged and the floor was flooded.
