Great Q. As a bbq competitor, I appreciate the high standards that the staff puts into the food. Tried 5 meats and all were amazing. Was nice to see brisket point on the platter instead of slices from the flat. Rubs were nice and peppery. Chicken was moist and lightly smoked. Side ribs were competition tender with a slight tug on the bone. I highly recommend. Just a short hike from downtown.
This place has the best bbq, if not the best food overall, in the city. I've lived in Toronto for 10+ years, and I eat around a lot due to work. I also go to Austin, Texas on a yearly basis for vacation. This is authentic Texas BBQ. Literally, it competes with the food we gravitate to while we're down south, people who have devoted generations to perfecting their craft.
The food is a tad pricey, but this is to be expected for this kind of quality. We had the brisket, the sausage and the pulled pork, and we were blown away. The meat was perfect, fall apart on the fork. The sausage was spicy and the pulled pork was incredible. The artisinal cocktails are a little pricey, but impeccably blended and very generously poured. The sides are interesting takes on the classics, the beans in particular were fantastic, as were the homemade pickles.
The venue is welcoming, if a tad small, but the hardwood and brick motif is utterly charming, with a large patio area out back. They have live music events, and do catering and private functions.
This is the top of my "you gotta try this" list from now on. 10 outta 10, will eat again. As often as possible.
Amazing tasting food. I had the brisket that fell apart with the simple touch of it, the homemade mac and cheese was creamy and delish! My husband tried the fritos fries which he loved! I thought the quality was amazing plus the amount of food is so filling... dont let the tray deceive you. The live music was awesome also. New fav spot. Little hidden GEM this place is.7
