Tom's Dairy Freeze is the best ice cream in the GTA. Customer service is on point 100% of the time. They even make there own ice cream. The line up is the suspense before the mouth watering taste of ice cream that is to die for.
Love this place even though I'm not a huge fan of ice cream. Their french fries are crispy and wonderful and their soft serve ice cream is rich and wonderful. The kids like the Slurpee's with ice cream in them as well as the banana split concoctions and brownie delight's. get ready for a lineup in the summer evenings - it's worth the wait.
Hands down the best place in Etobicoke to get a soft serve or a dipped cone.
The USP of this place is that it's open till midnight.
Just a reminder, please carry cash as the place is cash only. (They do have an ATM though).
I have tried the simple soft serve, dipped soft serve cone in chocolate, peanut butter and caramel flavors.
If you love soft serve icecream and soft serve froyo this is the place. They also have scoop ice cream too. It’s a Ma and Pa, family joint. Don’t expect it to be like Sweet Jesus, these guys have been making their classic soft serve for many years. The line is crazy long after dinner time and on nice summer days. Best time to visit is after 10:30-11 pm ish. We had the soft serve banana split, it was exactly what you’d expect it to be.
Nelson: It is hot. So hot. The best thing in hot weather? Eating ice cream. One of the best places to do so in the west side is Tom's Dairy Freeze where their soft serve is deliciously rich. They also happen to dip cones and one of my favourites is the peanut butter dip with chocolate soft serve underneath. Such a perfect combo which gets even better on a hot day!
Summer hasn't officially started without a visit to Tom's. Little man loves the classic vanilla swirl. This is such an awesomely retro ice-cream spot and kids just love it.
It's warm and sunny today and I was craving an ice cream so I went to Tom's Dairy Freeze.
I drive by it fairly often but hadn't been since 2012.
I ordered a large banana split with chocolate sauce (no strawberry or pineapple sauces). I know I should have gotten the smaller one but I couldn't resist since I hadn't had lunch. It was big and delicious and, though I tried, I couldn't finish it all. Yum!
A short haiku review from me to you. Hope you enjoy it!

Classic, creamy, cool.
What you'd expect from soft serve.
Old school vibes throughout.

A classic spot for soft ice cream when you don't want to go to Dairy Queen. Tom's Dairy Freeze has been here forever and there's a reason for that. A definite must stop.
Tom's Dairy Freeze exactly what you want on a hot summer day. They have the best soft serve ice cream. Rather then spend $5 on a ice cream at Baskin robbins, tom's dairy freeze is definitely the go to ice cream joint in etobicoke
Fantastic ice cream. Best in the city and a local favourite. Summer is Tom's. Avoid 8-9pm to avoid most of the lineups. Friendly staff and fair prices. Could use some privacy from the road for me, but that's not their thing.
The best place for soft serve ice cream hands down (except for Dairy Cream in Mississauga. Pretty much Etobicoke's version of it). Twist in a cone dipped in chocolate with nuts. Amazingly delicious!
The soft serve collection is wonderful. We had Cookie Monster and chocolate with peanuts!
Very fast service and the base is creamy and yummy.
There was a line but it went ahead rather quickly and they only accept cash.
You got an ATM nearby which absorbs some charge for withdrawal.
A nice place to chill and have ice creams, shakes and more!
Good experience overall, good flavours and fast service. Pricing was excellent as well.
I feel like the ice cream was just average, I tried the cotton candy vanilla soft serve and the ice cream bar. It was good. The cotton candy vanilla soft serve just taste like regular vanilla, I would have loved to experience more flavour there.
If I’m in the area. I’ll definitely come back
Tradition and Fantasy reign at this ICE CREAM Castle!!! Amazing service and atmosphere. Locally based and Long History of delivering memories and fun. So many freakin options, you gotta decide before you get to the front of the line. They are experts and ICE CREAM, and customizing. Outstanding selection and prices. Friendly and Professional. Long lines nightly but they move quickly. Expanded seating. CASH ONLY! CASH ONLY! ATM on site just in case but bring cash to be safe. Not just an ice cream but an experience.
Great selection of flavours, handy and reasonable. The kids love to go here and there are always lots of kids and dogs sitting outside enjoying their treats. You have to stop by this place! Be patient when it comes to parking spots.
We visited Tom’s yesterday and were surprised by how crowded it was. Nevertheless, the line moved fast and the service was prompt. I opted for a parfait which is a multi-layered ice cream with strawberry, chocolate and pineapple sauce. I loved the creaminess of the soft serve and the strawberries were great.
The only drawback was that the glass the parfait was served in is very tall and narrow, making it difficult to reach the other layers.
The prices are quite reasonable given the size, however it is a cash only ice cream parlour.
Always so good! An OG and staple in the neighborhood, can never get enough. Love their soft serve and scoops. Definitely uses a lot of artificial flavoring but satisfying!
Their ice cream is great, line ups are absurd during the summer but somehow it always feels worth it. Prices are reasonable and I always feel good after going here for ice cream. It’s the perfect place for ice cream on a warm summer evenings.
Who hasn't heard of Tom's? Since 1969, this location has been going strong through the years with tons of customers screaming for their ice cream with swirls or dips or toppings to choose from! It is CASH ONLY and prepare for the line up cause it's well worth it.
Tom's Dairy Freeze has adapted so well during this pandemic. They also provide tubs of their Soft Serve Ice Cream (also with dips and layers as a variation) which you can bring home to eat! Their social media (on Instagram) constantly has new things like voting for new flavours, it's very well done on keeping all customers up-to-date.
I personally order the cappuccino with a waffle cone and they really pack it in! I've also had some friends order the medium soft serve ice cream dipped in blueberry and it's ridiculous the size of medium (they have to tilt it if getting it from the cash window).
Do note, their parking is very limited and you may have to park further up the street on McIntosh Avenue in the residential area. Mama Martino's next door is always busy so customers may cause a bit of a parking dilemma between the two popular locations.
