My partner and I have had a couple of very nice lunches here. Comfortable booths, very friendly and attentive service and free WiFi (if that is important). On our first visit, we had the Seafood Pancake and Japchae. Too much food for two people. My advice is to bring more friends or come very hungry! The pancake was excellent!. Crispy and with a generous amount of seafood. We loved the noodles also which had tasty veges and beef in the mix. The Banchan is all made in house and we loved it. My partner tucked into the Cucumber Kimchee with abandon and they gladly brought us more. On our next visit, we started with the Goon-man-do (fried dumplings) which were tasty although not quite up to the Jang Mo Jib version. I bravely ordered the spicy seafood Tofu Stew (I have been made to sweat over this dish in the past) but our server asked the kitchen to tone it down and it was perfect. The broth was very good. This is a hearty warming dish. Finally, we had Fresh Noodles with Stir Fried Black Bean Sauce. The noodles were perfect with just a bit of bite and I love the sauce. Be aware that they are not shy about using onions here. I don't know if that is typical of Korean food and I certainly have no objection. There is a lot more to be explored on this menu. Give it a try!
Pretty good place. I liked the fried dumplings in particular. The Jjampong (spicy seafood noodle) comes in a large portion but it isn't very spicy, quite different from other places. I'd say it's a very "healthy" bowl jjampong that's a bit easier on your stomach (little/no garlic). The noodle was very interesting in that it was a mix of a thinner noodle with a thicker kind, quite chewy but good. The seafood seemed a tad chewy the last time I went as well. Not sure if they changed owners again but I went in summer of 2015 when it was "under new management" and the soup was much spicier and flavourful, had a lot of roasted pepper taste to it, and the noodle was different. However, the portion was smaller.
EDIT: I came back to try it more recently. This time I had the extra spicy Jjampong. It certainly lived up to its name. The broth was much better than last time with a bit more seafood taste, though again it seemed to have little or no garlic. There was a good amount of vegetables including water chestnuts. The tofu soup was somewhat mediocre though - it was almost 10$ and doesn't come with rice.
We came here for a late lunch so it wasn't very busy, got seated right away. We ordered the fried dumplings to start, the noodles with black bean sauce, and the rice also with black bean sauce. The dumplings were nice and crispy, a bit on the plain side but it wasn't too greasy. Both the noodles and rice with the black bean sauce were very tasty. The black bean sauce here is on the watery side (usually the sauce is thick) but it still tasted great! For those who haven't had the black bean sauce we would recommend you try it even though visually it looks like dark matter.
Good quality food, service was good, and prices are great for the portion size. We would recommend and we will be back.
Good service...although lady didn't speak or understand much English. The seafood scallion pancake was amazing! Fried dumplings good appy. Hot meat stew was bit lacking in meat. Pork cutlet curry was a bit on the sweet side for us. Would revisit.
A neat little traditional style Korean restaurant located right by the H Mart. The soups come in large portions and taste spicy and are full of flavor. I would recommend the Spicy beef soup, the soup is full of tender beef and packs a punch. Overall I would recommend this place, it's great!
Delicious. My wife and I have eaten here more than a handful of times. The noodle soups we've ordered have fantastic flavour, and we always leave very satisfied. But service is very poor when it's busy. On two occasions we came into the restaurant while it was busy, so we had to grab menus for ourselves and hunt down a waiter for everything from water to food to containers to the bill.
Satisfied. First time coming here because of my Korean friend. I had low expectations but surprisingly delicious. Noodles were definitley worth it, but pork tempura i wasn't really sure of.
Not bad, except didn't have bibimbap.. Food was pretty good, but whenever we go for Korean, we always get Bi bim Bap, and they didn't have it.
It was excellent! Fresh veg and so delicious. It's hard to find decent Korean food and I'm glad I stumbled on this place. The service was very nice and I felt appreciate for stopping in.
Dining Adventure. It had been years since I'd had Korean and was yearning for Bi bim bap. I was so disappointed they had taken it off the menu! That said, I chose bulgogee, and my dining companions chose the pork tempura-type dish and a fish stew/soup. We were unsure as to how to go about ordering so decided to wing it. We are so glad we did! The food was hot, fresh and delicious. We will not hesitate to go back. Were 3 hungry people and we went away with some leftovers.
We knew we'd picked a pretty authentic place when we walked in, as 5 tables were occupied by groups of Korean families or friends.
We can't wait to go back and sample more of the menu, with a better idea of how to order now. If you're a group of meateaters, order a couple of meat or fish based dishes, a rice dish and a veg or two (as not all dishes come with veg &/or rice), depending on the amount of people. Leftovers are great though!!
I wish I'd taken pictures of the amazing food so you could check it out.
Tried the combo 1 on their menu priced for $40 and it was a feast. We were told it was good for 2 to 3 persons but with the large serving they have we still have some leftover for 2 persons after eating. Very affordable and very tasty food which I will deffinitely go back everytime. The service is exceptional, they refill your tea before it runs out with servers always available when needed. Come try them out if you love food this is the place for you.
Good service and great taste for the food. Love the seafood pancake and their soup.
I am very satisfied with their food. We have been here a few times and ordered individual or combo food.
We have been to this restaurant 4 times so far so good. Last night we had late dinner and ordered spicy fresh seafood jjam pong noodle soup snd extra spicy seafood jjam pong. They were amazingly good! Their spicy seafood noodle soup checked off all the box. The portion is generous with perfect amount of noodle, seafood and veggies. The texture of the noodle’s chewy but not hard or soggy and it’s perfect for soup. The spiciness was to my liking....true to its word. The banchan (side dishes) that they served us were all tasty and delicious. Definitely the best Jjam pong we’ve tasted so far. The service was also great! 😊
We picked this place after debating between Pho and black bean noodles. I heard this place has variety of Jjambbong (spicy seafood noodle) using oyster, ribs, clams and etc.
My family and I had to wait about 20 minutes. Driving from Vancouver to Langley took 40 minutes. We had to wait outside in the cold breeze. Good thing, staff didn’t forget about us waiting outside. We showed vaccine card and ids before ordering.
We ordered Combo B $42 (spicy chicken, jjambbong and jajangmyun) with fried rice ($14). Spicy chicken was huge. Food was packed with flavours and it tasted pretty good. Jajanmyun didn’t have much meat, but it was fine. Jjambbong (spicy seafood noodle) was SO impressive. Toppings had some clams, squid, shrimps. Fried rice was good, but some rice wasn’t fully cooked.
I liked how there was a free soup for the fried rice. We didn’t like the taste of uncooked rice though. Staff was very nice and helpful. I really like her preparedness by giving us ladle, scissors and utensils all at once. She also came around each tables for tea refill. Side dishes were simple just Kimchi, yellow radish and onions. Kimchi looked and tasted dry.
We ended up taking leftover fried rice and spicy chicken home. I’m glad I got to dine at Baik Mi it was pretty good. I’d recommend fellow Korean folks and everyone else who likes Korean food. They also sell dried Korean seafood as well. Because they specialize various Jjambbong you gotta try one off the menu. Conveniently located next to H mart in Langley so you can go eat after grocery shopping.
Large portions. Friendly and fast service. The Best Korean food I had in BC so far. Highly recommend the seafood pancake and the glass noodles.
