Had an amazing meal and experience here this evening. The food is incredible and so is the service. The owner was so excited to tell us about all of their vegan options and how they came to have such a great selection of vegan fare. We tried the samosas, falafels and vegan butter “chicken” and it was all delicious. The butter “chicken” was especially satisfying. We will absolutely be returning and are looking forward to trying the buffet which we were told has even more vegan options (everything aside from a couple of meat options is vegan already) on Mondays and Tuesdays!
Went for the supper buffet. Food was excellent. When you go to a buffet some times the food can be a bit cold due to it sitting but it was nice and warm and incredibly flavorful and delicious. The small selection is fine given that everything offered is of great quality. The warmed naan bread offered was excellent and tasted incredibly fresh. The staff was welcoming and warm from start to finish and ensured you had a great time. Would 100% go again and recommend anyone in the area to give it a visit.
The food is delicious and lovely customer service. Our waiter was very patient. We came to celebrate a birthday. It was close to closing time and he waited for us to finish cutting and eating the cake. The waiter even played birthday music!
Wow! I came here on a dinner break from work and just wanted something comforting, so I ordered the butter chicken combo. Good lord, the best in the city, hands down, ill fight ya over it lol. It had amazing flavor, the Naan was fresh and warm, and the rice was fantastic. Had a really good kick, but it was that warm curry heat. The chicken was falling apart and the sauce was liquid gold.
If you want to get yourself some of, if not the best, Bangladeshi or Indian cuisine, get over to NJ's Kitchen, you will not be disappointed, I guarantee it.
Can't wait to try more of the items they have. Will add them as we try them.
I will recommend this place as an authentic Bengali eatery. The foods are amazing and comparable with the same dishes which you will find in some good restaurant of Dhaka or Kolkata. The behavior of the staffs are cordial.
NJ's kitchen is the best halal restaurant for east Indian and Bangladeshi Cuisine. The food is halal and tasty. They provide super quality food and the environment is unique. It provides a great feel that you are eating in a Bangladeshi environment. They also provide halal / non- alcoholic beers. I have attached the menu book..
If you want to get genuine Bangladeshi food in St. John's this is the place to go.
Apparently the owner has beef with a lot of local people because of the food quality or behavior, but I've never faced such an issue. The owner has always been good to me.
However, one thing I would say is that this place has consistency issues. One day the food tastes really really good that it would be on top of any restaurant in the city on some other day the food would be completely wasted. For example, the meat would be raw or even smell a little bit sometimes.I believe the taste of the food depends on which chef is cooking on which day.
But, If you're craving some desi food this is the place to go.
I had a very pleasant meal with my family. We had lots of food at a reasonable price, and our server was very helpful and gave good recommendations. The interior decor is a little drab if I'm being honest, but that didn't detract from the meal.

Never even realized NJ’s kitchen offers brunch! Timing was right today so we chose some brunch and some lunch. Fantastic and filling! Take homes too. Great separate brunch and lunch menus to choose from! Lots of meat, chicken and vegan choices on both menus. Social distancing well in place here today. As always, a great place to eat.
