My wife and I tried Lucky House for the first time tonight. We absolutely loved it! The food was fresh and flavourful, as well as reasonably priced. Staff were friendly. We got takeout, but the restaurant itself is cozy. A great option for Chinese food in the downtown and St. John's in general. We're happy customers who will definitely return soon!
Amazing customer service!
I ordered dinner for a friend who was trapped in a St. John's hotel because of a positive COVID case. Was trying to send her a nice warm meal, with some soup. I'm several provinces away, so used Skip the Dishes (Big Mistake!!!). The drive never bother to pick up the order, and it was sitting there at the restaurant getting cold.
The restaurant called me in Ontario to let me know the food had been waiting for pick up, and when Skip wouldn't do anything to fix the problem beyond refunding the money on my credit card (eventually - could take up to 10 days), the restaurant sent the food over to the hotel with their own delivery person.
It may not have been as hot as intended, but that's Skip the Dishes' fault. I'm sure it was better than cereal and cup a soup, which was my friend's alternative.

A friend recommended Lucky House when I was looking for Chinese food for a family dinner. I walked in to order takeout and received friendly and helpful service. Portions are generous and all dishes we ordered were tasty. Favorite was the Lucky House fried rice and the beef and broccoli. None of the dishes were salty, which was a pleasant surprise.
Used to be named Banboo Garden Restaurant, triggered my memories by todays sad news. Wish the new business will running well in this place.
The tastiest, most delicious Chinese food 😋 the beef triangles are fantastic, and the service is even better, love this little restaurant...its a must!!

Lovely place! The food is amazing and you definitely get more than what you pay for. The only thing better than the food is the service- the host is so kind! She makes our visits amazing, so we tend to go back every time we head downtown :)
Fantastic food here! Best chicken fried rice I've ever had, and their beef and broccoli is amazing! The customer service is nice too. I find the portion sizes good for the price.
