We’ve gotten to travel all around Toronto, dining at some of the best burger joints the city has to offer. We’ve driven as far as Hamilton and Montreal and we even did BurgerTours in Edmonton and Daytona Beach. But for this BurgerTour, we travelled over 3,000 kms to Newfoundland for a very special burger and a very special meal.
We had the fish and chips (a very good choice) and our server suggested we have the files Newfoundland style (also a good choice). Reminds me of the pubs in London and Dublin. Matt was friendly and engaging as a server. An excellent experience on our first night in St. John's.
A short stumble from George Street this is the place to have a great meal after a night out on the town. Open 24 hours a day the Celtic Hearth can get quite busy after the bars close but generally you can often get a seat at normal hours as it's quite a large restaurant. A local favourite is fried bologna (if you care to indulge) or I would highly recommend the 'sexy nachos' that are topped with chicken and BBQ sauce and are easily the best nachos I've ever had.
I have been here three times while on our 10 day vacation around the island and we keep coming back here. Fantastic staff, great beer, awesome atmosphere and food. It's a 24 hour place that serves food. It will be my go to place after a long flight back here.
Seafood. Whenever I stop in St. John's I pay a visit to the Celtic Hearth. I love their Fish and Chips and I always get the Cod Tongue app.
This place is amazing! I've never been disappointed and the food is out of this world!! Very friendly service keeps me coming back:)
24hrs as a flight attendant this is amazing since most restaurants close early around here. Good food, good service.
Salad was good. Fish wasn't strong and the food wasn't salty. I would eat there again.
Cozy Atmosphere, Good Food & Service. Had a very enjoyable time at The Celtic Hearth (I'm pretty certain it is Hearth and not Heart as the listing says?). Our waiter was friendly and very accommodating. Our meals were great, I had a nice cup of tea on a chilly day, and we had a lovely window seat. Loved the atmosphere, with antique-like medicine bottles and medical books.
We didn't have a lot of time so I ordered sweet chili wings. They were okay.
