This is the best place in Vancouver
No doubt about it
Fast and yummy. BBQ ducks made in house. Tops other fast food joints.
Yes. We,re Eating Again.

I had been intrigued by the reviews of Cafe Loyal. Many pointed to its decent chow, unique menu and ordering system and good prices. It has been on my list for a while. So we were in the area and hungry, and decided to give it a try. I'm not typically put off by sketchy locations or run down strip malls so we rolled up and walked in despite the low rent exterior. I had already looked at the menu and felt some confusion. I hoped that looking at it in person would solve this, but it did not. The menu is a sort of hodge podge of combinations and single items with miscellaneous exceptions and additions, all in campy hard to read graphics. Put a bunch of people in front of the menus all at the same time and I'm sure the result will be chaos! My advice would be to print some menus and let people struggle on their own instead of in line with other people waiting! That being said, it was not busy when we arrived. We figured it out, ordered and our food was ready to be picked up quickly. And here is the thing, the food was very good! I admit that I was prepared to be disappointed but everything we had was tasty and satisfying! Marie had a Fish Soup Noodle Set with Crispy Chicken and Pan Fried Pork Dumplings on the side. The noodles had some nice chew, there were lots of fresh vegetables and a generous very tender piece of chicken breast all in a very good broth. The dumplings were nicely seared, also had good texture and decent pork filling. You can't ask too much from add on dumplings but we were happy with these. I had Satay Beef with Rice. Also a not too fancy but satisfying dish. Tender, slightly sweet with a few vegetables and rice to soak up the sauce. Each of our combos came with a drink and I was amazed to only pay $25 for the whole meal! So value for decent chow is the whole point here. You could probably order anything of the confusing menu and be happy. There is an eclectic (sort of faux eclectic, I assume) mix of tables and chairs and the folks were friendly enough. You can even buy Cafe Loyal T shirts! I'm impressed!
Depending on what you order, some dishes are worth the price, some aren't. I found the menus quite hard to read because of the fancy designs. Food is done fairly quickly. They charge an extra $1 if you want your drink with NO ice. I've only been here once and I think it's worth it to return a few times to try other items on the menu.
Had breakfast here. Good value. Honest. Simple food. Would come back if I'm in the area. The staff there was friendly too. It has a clean, open kitchen... That's a bonus!
This establishment brings a real touch of Asia over here. You walk in, check out the digital menu boards, go order, find a seat and wait for them to call your number. This kind of service is very efficient.
My girlfriend and I came here tonight to try it out. I felt like I was in hk for a moment. The service is quick and very friendly. Our food came out in three minutes, holy shit, these guys don't mess around. Our food was piping hot.
My girlfriend got the beef flat noodle, came with a soup and drink for 10 buck tax already included, delicious. The portion is not too little, not too much.
I got D61, the BBQ pork, fried tofu, fried egg, on rice. Delicious. I am really impressed with the service here. The lady and gentlemen at the front desk is very welcoming and friendly. It makes me want to come back again and again.
Parking is limited at front.
5/5 for service
I have had only positive experiences with this place!
This is a place where you could enjoy a quick and nice HK meal.
They hang the menu on the wall where you could go up to the counter and order by the meal numbers.
$10 combo includes the meal with rice, soup and a drink.
But what surprised me the most was the welcoming atmosphere they have in this restaurant.
They are the most friendly Chinese people I have ever encountered in the Greater Vancouver.
Although the location is not entirely ideal (It's located at the corner of No. 5 road and Bridgeport Rd. You could either turn into the tiny plaza on Bridgeport or turn on No 5 and go in from where the scotia bank is.), I would recommend this place for take-out food for busy individuals.
One side note about the take out food is that they pack it up really well. As I mentioned earlier, their meals include soup. They packed it up so well that I didn't have to worry about it spilling or anything.
Overall, I think this restaurant won over me by how friendly and caring they make the customer feel.
I would give 3.5 to this HK style cafe.
Price - very good!
A dish of food costs $10 that includes a beverage. The portion of the dish is reasonable. Not too much and not too little. $10 is including tax as well.
Customer service - very good!
The cashiers and servers here are very nice, friendly and polite. They always have smell on their faces. They make the customers happy.
Ambience - very causal
Families and individuals would walk into the restaurant and eat here. Menus are hanging on a wall. The restaurant is not big but it has many tables and chairs. It is clean. No fancy interior design.
Location - not at a popular location
It is located at no. 5 road and Bridgeport. It is one of the units in a smaller complex and the same complex has some shared parking stalls. This location is convenient for the people who go to work or who live in this neighbourhood.
Food - average
The food has a good portion. The quality is okay. I ordered a dish of hainam chicken with rice. The chicken was good but the rice was too soft. Also the dish of noodles was over cooked that the texture of the noodles were soft and soaky. It was not as well as the one that I had somewhere else.
If I could pay $10, I could get better quality of food and cheaper price at the food court in Aberdeen Centre or other Chinese food courts.
Breakfast is what I go to sleep for. French croissants, Chinese donut, Shanghai sticky rice and soy milk, Japanese nato beans, German schnitzels, English style baked beans, – doesn’t matter, I don’t discriminate. HK STYLE TODAY AT CAFE LOYAL:. Fried noodles, soy sauce rice roll, fish congee with ginger, milk tea - all for under $10!!! The fish congee had really big pieces of ginger which was great because the gnger taste was really fresh and strong. Milk tea could’ve been stronger - I couldn’t taste tea it tasted like milk with a bit of sugar. Not too oily.
○order first then sit down/ fast food
○Hong Kong style cuisine
○alot of options to choose from/ different menu lunch and dinner
○Good food
○reasonable price
○clean
○would I go back? Yes
The place was nice and tidy. Food was average, but a cute and polite waitress named Jimmy made the food taste so much better ;)
Quick hk style fast food, between 10-15 dollars per item. Not bad, a step above mall food. Would come back again. Nothing special but fast and convenient
Yang Chow Fried Rice with Tea/Coffee Combo Drink. The food comes out piping hot and fresh. Definitely made to order and fast. The portions are big and filling. The drink is made well. Not too strong and not too weak. The establishment is really clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and quick to respond to clean and free up any tables for new customers waiting to sit down. Sometimes parking can be a challenge but once you're here, you'll eat well. Enjoy!
The staff here is super polite and friendly. They will not urge you to place an order. They are not in a rush. This makes you feel like home.
The curry beef brisket is very soft and easy to chew. The chef is very generous in providing the brisket. You will still have the brisket and the curry sauce even you have the final spoon of rice. However, the brisket is a little bit salty.
The iced milk tea is silky and not too sweet.
The restaurant has plenty of sun room. This makes the atmosphere delightful.
The washroom needs to be improved as there is a minor leak with the flush water pipe. Other than that, this is a nice cafe which strikes a good balance between price, quantity, quality and experience.
Excellent service!!!!!
Pretty good food. Nice food presentation
A nice Hong Kong style restaurant with healthier cooking as the food is less salty than others. We ordered fried chicken with spaghetti, fried rice noodle with beef and french toast plus ice-cream. All are tasty and the portions are good The restaurant crew is friendly and helpful.
