This restaurant is located in Delta Shopping Centres at Richmond and has a decent ambience.
We ordered Cholay Bhature, Sarso Ka Saag and Onion Naan between the two of us. Cholay Bhature was good enough, the Cholay were properly cooked and were soft to eat. The spices in the gravy was balanced and the the gravy tasted good. Even the Saag had the proper proportion of green vegetable and other ingredients. Overall, we had a decent meal and will recommend you this place.
Gotta love the samosas here. And the sweets are nice, too. If only they had an outlet somewhere near downtown Vancouver, this place could be such a phenomenal hit!
went here for dinner in a hurry on our way to the ferry. .had the Indian buffet. .there was a good selection of many mainstream Indian dishes. .the place was clean. .service friendly. .definetly would go here again. .

Earlier in the evening we had our Persian kebabs at Daddy's Delight, and a walk around King George Park. Now it was time for dessert. We remained on the corner of No. 5 Road and Cambie in east Richmond, across the street though again in a strip mall anchored by a larger Shoppers Drug Mart. Himalaya Sweets is a throw back to a simpler time in restaurant decor. It actually reminds me of the Chinese-Canadian restaurants that dotted the prairie provinces in the latter part of the last century, with their basic appearance, friendly service, and the all-you-can-eat buffet.
Good Homestyle Indian. The buffet at Himalaya reminds me of eating dinner at my Indian buddy's house, and his mom is an awesome cook!
Anytime I can find an Indian buffet that includes fresh made naan and samosas, I jump at the chance to try it. Himalaya has the best samosas I've had in a long time, maybe ever. The buffet is not as extensive as some "fine dining" indian joints, but everything is good and tastes fresh. The butter chicken is great , but in general the buffet is more vegetable based. Not a bad thing. Especially when it's obvious the mixed veg curry is hand cut fresh carrots and potatoes, not frozen from a bag like a lot of places.
Im a tandoori chicken freak, so was a bit sad it wasn't on the buffet.
Laid back atmosphere, and super friendly family run feeling make this place very comfortable. Never feel rushed to leave, and they always offer more naan and samosas.
Probably the best $14 meal in Richmond.
Great food, fantastic service, the waitress was great fun and entertaining. Food was excellent, not generic tasting like most Indian buffet, heat levels varied with each dish. The owner is a great host and takes pride in his place and great care of his guests, highly recommend the place for a great reasonably priced meal. Try the Chai, very nice after a good curry!
Great little place. My Himalaya experience consists of smoking a fatty and then hitting the all you can eat buffet. It's not even worth it unless you are getting the all you can eat.
Love this place. My wife and I frequent this restaurant about every 2-3 weeks and always enjoy the food. They have about 8-10 dishes in the buffet, plus breads and samosas.
The staff are always friendly, and the price is about $12/ea. We haven't ordered off the menu before, normally just do buffet, but have seen things ordered and they looked and smelled great.
They also have a large assortment of deserts and sugary sweets.
Awesome food!!!! Accidently find out this place and oredered briyani coz I was craving for so long 😏 it really surprised me with the portion and taste, and the Tandoori chicken is so juicy, great timing too. Probably the best Indian food I found in Canada, will definitely come back again.
Food was really good and they had it done quickly. Some other places take really long to prepare their food, but this place was quick to do so. Both takeouts I ordered were good and I could not find anything wrong with them.
I came this town after six years and had memory of this restaurant
ordered 6 Samosa with chutney. Extremely tasty food with prompt service.
The best Indian buffet in town, super nice staff. It costs $13.95 per person for the buffet. The buffet has almost everything , the curry section, dessert section, salads, dips. All the curry chicken is cooked to perfection, love the flavour. If you are looking for Indian cuisine and wanna try few different things at one go, this is the place for you!!!! It’s great for family outing meals, casual dining. I would come here again for sure.
PROS: Good service, clean, old school vibe, cheap dinner buffet ($13.95), unlimited naan, everything homemade, vegetarian options, family operated. CON: Limited meat selection, but.. I’m not a huge meat eater anyway. My dinner was delicious and I really enjoyed the service. I will return! Loved the family atmosphere. Thanks guys!
