We have been to this place for years - the food is excellent and the service is incomparable. The owners are extremely polite. The ingredients they use are nothing short of what we would use for our own family - the taste of their food is just as good as a place using MSG to enhance the flavours.
It is a small place and it fills in very quick!
First time in this restaurant, I loved the food and the service was great. Very tasty food, warm and just spicy enough. Didn't know what to pick and the waiter has provided good suggestions. Will go again.
Haroo features Korean homestyle food without MSG and is known for their family-friendly atmosphere. . Would I recommend this place? Yeh. . Location: 3.5/5. Slightly difficult to locate if you are unfamilar with Richmond . Additionally, parking space is terrible to find during peak dining hours. The parking area is shared amongst other restaurants in the plaza. If you find yourself in the corner of the parking lot, it is hard to 3 point turn (or 4 point... 5 point turn) your way out. A small Korean family restaurant - almost always full. Very friendly service. Not much choices of food, but food quality is great. Came many times and never got disappointed.
Soup was the best I've had in Richmond! :)) great service and food was great! :)) must try! Staff are so nice too :) big portions and fair price!! Go go go!!!

Nom nom nom Korean is on the menu again! This time we decided to go to Haroo Tofu House because we were shopping at Richmond Centre and didn’t want to go too far. I guess we could of gone to Samsoonie but we wanted to try somewhere new. Although we almost regretted it when we pulled up to the restaurant though because we realized that it was Chinese owned instead of Korean owned…
went for dinner with a friend, was curious about the place for quite a long time already, the place i must say is hard to find, because it's on the second floor, i wasn't sure how and which way i was supposed to go, so tried my luck with the elevator and voila, was there.
the place is quite small i'll say at most it'll fit 25 people.
it's definitely family runned, and the food that we ordered are the seafood pancake, dak galbi and rice. well then what surprises me the most is the seafood pancake, they use more of an old school tempura type of flour, and it created in a more unusual texture, but in terms of taste, it only differs a bit. and the dak galbi is definitely alright, the meat is good and the sauce is good. i also must admit the banchan (side dishes) is great.
however the price i must admit is a little bit expensive, but all korean food in vancouver is in the same range. so it's worth trying but no dish that makes me want to go back again.

This Korean restaurant gave me a very home sweet home type of feeling other than just a restaurant. The Korean husband and wife worked hard to run this business. They have hired a couple staff/servers. They were all friendly, polite and diligent.
Coming here for Korean food, don't expect you are like eating Korean food in downtown Vancouver or Coquitlam. The restaurant would give each table a jar of iced water and a pot of hot tea, so we could serve the water and tea by ourselves.
We ordered kimchi fried rice, Gamjatang (pork bone soup) with rice and beef nubiany. All of them tasted fantastic!!! The kimchi fried rice was totally different from the ones in Vancouver and Coquitlam. The kimchi fried rice was spicy but we could manage it. The restaurant used some dried kimchi/veggies to cook with the rice. They also put an egg with sunny side up on top of the fried rice. Great food!! The soup base of Gamjatang was really good that it was totally different from the ones out there. The beef nubiany was served on a hot pan. The beef was dry by itself, but if we dipped it in the sauce, it tasted better. Other than all these food above, their side dishes such as kimchi, slices of fish cakes, potatoes with soy sauce and bean sprouts were excellent! I wouldn't know how to describe all these delicious food to you unless you tried them yourselves. The pricing was reasonable.
The restaurant only works for several hours in the evening, so either reserving a table in advance or going there early to have dinner is the best. Parking is limited, so make sure you go there earlier and look for a parking spot on the ground floor or upper floor.
The kimchi fried rice had a good amount of kimchi flavour and a fried egg on top which was delicious when the yolk was broken up and mixed with the rice. The portion size was very small though and I thought this dish was quite pricy for the size of it so I don’t think I would order it again. All of the banchan was very good and I couldn’t stop eating it throughout the meal. I loved the kimchi here.

Great place to eat, pricing is decent and food quality is great. Excellent customer service, and staff is very friendly. It would appear to be a family restaurant and clearly you can tell they care about the food would return for sure!
I'm not sure why I haven't entered my review on this very good Korean restaurant yet. I've been here periodically for the past few years. It's a family-run business so you'll see the same good staff each time.
They have good Korean food and it seems quite authentic to me. It also appears a bit healthier than the standard Korean joints. In Richmond, I don't think there is a better choice.
It's quite small so make sure you go slightly earlier. Parking will be a hassle if you don't go earlier too.

A good place for a warm dinner in winter. Food was good, I love their pork bone hotpot a lot. The seafood pancake was pretty crispy and tasty. I would give a 4.5 star if possible.
This is what I am talking about when it comes to Seafood Pancake, Japchae and Rice Cake with Spicy Pepper paste. As authentic as you can get to Korean food in Richmond. There are a lot of pretenders, especially in Richmond, but this establishment has them all beat. Place is a little bit small so reservation highly recommended.
