This is a craft brewer that should be on your list of breweries to try. Well crafted beers that have been brewed with knowledge and passion....2 important qualities for craft beer. I look forward to a return visit.
We went here after discovering their beer at the Fest of Ales in Penticton last weekend. Their Siren saison is exceptional....won best saison at the aforementioned beer fest.
We had a shared hummus plate with our beer....it was a winner. Looked over their menu and look forward to returning for an evening visit. The place was very busy but the staff were attentive and friendly.
One of the owner/brewers recognized us and we sat and had a great conversation with him...
Portion sizes can be a bit small, depending on the dish, but quality and taste are exceptional.
Beer is excellent, wine list is smallish, but perfect for the food and diverse enough for every palate. They are always experimenting with cocktails, so expect something new and/or changing pretty regularly.
Staff and owners/manager are the most welcoming of any restaurant I've ever visited.
Setting and decor is perfect for the neighbourhood and vibe of the place.
An all-around wonderful establishment.
In short, I have found a second home.
Our friend Kadie and her brother Klayton are huge fans of Britannia Brewing Company and we found out why on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The best part is that they have a dog-friendly patio and my dog Bear was lucky enough to hang out with us. . I know that it's sort of dumb to order something other than beer but I did. I ordered the fresh pressed granny smith apple juice with gin. It was very refreshing and perfect for a hot summer day. The shaved some cinnamon and nutmeg or something and it amplified the drink to another level. I tried the beers as Lillian got a flight and they were equally good.
This is our go-to for lunch or dinner or simply a drink after work. The ambience is light, casual and comfortable. The service is always attentive and friendly but it can get busy here! I love ordering the paddle and tasting all their micro brewed beers which are awesome by the way. They also do fresh squeezed Granny Smith apples for cocktails. My friends rave about these drinks and I’ll have to try one soon. My fave dishes are the truffle popcorn to start, mussels in XO sauce, the burger, the spaghettini or the fish and chips. I haven’t tried their desserts so can’t comment. When I was searching through Zomato, this place received a low rating which surprised me because it really is one of the best in Steveston village!
Every Day Is A Food Day
+3.5
The Britannia Brewing Company has opened for well over a year already. I can’t believe that I haven’t noticed this spot for so long. We definitely don’t have many craft beer spots in Richmond, so for Britannia to have both food and craft beers in an establishment, it makes it much more attracting. I believe they brew their beer on the other end of Steveston in the Ironwood area, so here, they just serve food and beers on tap.
Fresh local food & delicious house made beer with a great selection, can't get much fresher than this! Great service, patio & ambience also 👍🍺
Food and service was great! There was no wait time for us to get a table even though it was a holiday on a sunny day. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very calming and nice for both friends and family.
Only reason why I gave a 4.0 is because food took way too long to get to our table and the waitresses didn't update us on our order.
We had the steak, seafood chowder, kale Caesar and fish n chips. The steak was very tender and juicy. Not too overseasoned. Would order again! Chowder was loved by everyone! Although more water-y than I am used to. Caesar was okay, didn't really have a wow factor. And lastly the fish n chips were good but definitely not the best. For the variety of dishes provided and impressive drink list I would visit again!
I highly suggest trying the porter beer if youre into darker beers! Not as hoppy as others and less creamy than a Guinness!
The pricing seems reasonable for the quality and type of dining they want to provide! Nothing to complain there :)
Best place ever!! Delicious beer, fenomenal services... I would suggest fish and chips and crab and chilli spaghettini! Simply perfect!😍😍😍
We walked around in Steveston in the late afternoon. We realized that this location used to be an Italian restaurant. Now it becomes a beer restaurant.
We went into this beer restaurant. Their interior design inside the restaurant and even the men and women bathrooms was extraordinarily well done! Craft beer places in Vancouver or in Lower Mainland don't usually have such a great interior design. I talked to the owner of this beer restaurant. Their wood furniture was made by him and his friend themselves. His friend's wife did a great job on the interior design. The usage of wood, tiles, furniture and etc. match very well that the ambience is very comfortable and match the Steveston environment.
We ordered two flights of eight samples of beer. All of them tasted excellent. We couldn't see a brewery at the same location. Probably the craft beer was made at somewhere else and delivered to the restaurant in Steveston. We quite enjoyed drinking beer here, looking at the environment outside the restaurant and admiring the great interior design.
The customer service was excellent. Servers would check on our needs once in a while. They were friendly and quite responsible that they always make sure customers are satisfied with our food and drink or even their service.
As the beer restaurant is located at Steveston, the pricing of each flight of beer was $10. It was a bit pricy comparing to ones in Lower Mainland. However, it was worthwhile to pay $10 here that we could enjoy so many great things that we have listed above.
Britannia Brewing Company has been open a bit more than a month as of this writing. Aside from Hog Shack and Gudrun, there aren’t many other serious craft beer places in historic, slightly touristy Steveston. Britannia fills a niche that I think will work for them. Man, people love their patios! We sat inside and had the dining room all to ourselves. This place used to be Paesano’s Italian restaurant.
