Nice and quite restaurant... food was delicious and waiter was friendly and helpful! Scallop were very fresh and juice...prawns were nice and big! I couldn't finish the fettuccine cuz it was a big portion.
I think I will bring my family back again!
exceptional service!! they opened the doors for us as we were approaching & offered to hang our
coats the moment we walked in. particularly enjoyed the mashed potato - it had green onion & bacon bits in it. i thought the sauce that came with the lamb duo was a little too salty & the caesar salad had too much dressing. wagyu beef was excellent,
don't recommend dipping soy sauce because the meat has enough flavours in itself. garlic prawns were nothing really special but still tasted good. overall, a great dinner! would return again.
○good service
○good food/ every dish were good/ particulary enjoyed the truffled mash potatoes
○price similar to other high end restaurant/ portions were perfect
○family friendly
○they have free valet just get a stamp from restaurant
○would I go back? Yes for special occasions
Third Times The Charm.. I've been to Tramonto a couple times before and the food was always good, just not great. But...
Tonight I was rather delighted though. The hostess was warm and welcoming as she took my coat and brought us to our table. Our waiter was very friendly with ample appropriate suggestions. I had the sturgeon and my friend had a caesar salad with garlic prawns. I can't speak for his food but mine was spectacular. My portion was much larger than I anticipated but this is definitely not a complaint! The sturgeon sat atop swiss chard which paired wonderfully with the parsnip puree and foraged mushrooms.
Service was prompt and friendly with a personality that made me very comfortable, the perfect service for the atmosphere. I'm a server as well and I noticed all of the little things that were done to make sure that my friend and I were always content, I don't think my sparkling water was ever less than half full! Other occasions when I have been here it's been the same, the staff is 11/10!
My most memorable part of the evening though had to be the dessert, a combination of two of my favourite desserts, I have never seen them paired in such a deliciously beautiful way crème brûlée and tiramisu in one dish. It was too marvelous to explain you are just going to have to go there and try it yourself!
Would love to give it 6 stars!. Had my birthday dinner here and it was amazing.
When I entered the restaurant, the very friendly hostess greeted us and welcomed us to Tramonto. She then seated us at a lovely corner table where it was quite and with a great view.
We ordered the crab cake which was good. My bf ordered the beef tenderloin and it was so soft and tender, it just melted in my mouth ! I ordered the seafood platter and delightful !!! The yummy clams, lobster tail, crab claw and scallop !! (It came with mussels but I'm not a big fan of it, so I asked for more clams)
Anyways it's always a pleasure to come here because the food and service is always consistent :) I can't wait until I come back again!
P.S. You must try there pear sorbet !!!!!
A fine dining gem in Richmond. My wife and I had the occasion to visit Tramonto at the River Rock this weekend. We asked another couple to join us.
I can’t say enough good things about this establishment. We’ve visited several times a year for a few years now and have yet to be disappointed. Saturday was no exception. What really impresses me, aside from the food and wine, is the knowledge of the staff. When you ask a question about an item on the menu you’re provided with details, not just an overview. What the item is, how the chef prepares it, the accompaniments, etc.
Two of us had the arancini and two of us had the scallops, as appetizers. Hot and well presented, cooked to perfection. For the mains, two of us had the cannelloni, one had the pork chop, and one had the beef tenderloin. Again, cooked to perfection. I couldn’t decide on a wine so I asked our waiter if I could provide him with an upper limit of what I was prepared to spend, would he pick the wine. He knows my tastes in wine and said it wouldn’t be a problem. He was right on. I’ve got a new wine of the month now.
I can’t think of a better fine dining experience in the Richmond area, or Vancouver for that matter, just hop on the Canada Line and you're right there. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great food, extensive wine list...oh, and the views. Get a window seat and enjoy a sunset... or 2 or 3. You won’t be disappointed.
Enjoyable experience. I was initially apprehensive as the menu was very meat heavy and I'm a vegan, but it was the only nice restaurant in the hotel so I thought I'd give it a shot thinking I could just have a salad if nothing else. When I asked if they could recommend a vegan option the waiter left to chat with the chef who made me up a special meal that was amazing and tasty! They were very friendly and helpful and left me feeling great. Loved it.
Good Go to Place. This is one of my fav go to places for special occassions. I take my parents every year for their anniversary, this year is #55, and usually I go a couple of more times each year.
The service is always wonderful and casual yet in a high end resturant way.
I prefer to ask for what ever the Chef would like to serve. You never know what you will get and I get to try all sorts of food that I would not get ordering off the menu. Well worth it!!
Agree with the other user reviews. I've been there twice, once for an office party and once with a small group of friends. Service was excellent on both occasions, but the quality of the food does not justify the cost. I had a Lobster Thermidor special that was $50, and it was below par from other places I've had the same dish. Okay, but I wouldn't choose to go back... there are better options for fine dining.
Expensive but tasty. They could use salt shakers on the table. Indian fellow server was excellent.
