Stephen and I bought a house this summer in Richmond Hill and immediately gutted the first floor to build our dream kitchen. This means we’ve been spending a lot of weekends in the neighbourhood checking on renos, building kitchen cabinets and doing yard work. Pho Tai Bac quickly became our go to for a quick, satisfying lunch that was just minutes away.

First time here. I was looking for a Vietnamese restaurant on Yelp and I found this one nearby.

I asked the waitress if they have any vegan options here and she said she can serve me a spicy veggie soup with rice noodles. Its always appreciated when a restaurant accommodate to different lifestyles. The soup was delicious. Fresh ingredient and great spices. The closest a vegan can get to pho. Service is super friendly. Prices are affordable.

Overall this is a nice family owned Vietnamese restaurant. Worth checking out.

For this awesome foodie lunch adventure, I got this recommendation from long time Toronto foodie Charles Yu. There was a long post about pho recommendations in Toronto. Having tried many existing restaurants in the Markham and Richmond Hill area, I thought that it might be worth driving a little out of the way to try out this restaurant, Pho Tai Bac. I rounded up my foodie colleague group and off we went in search of grub.
