I came over on a chilly winter's night. This place specializes in northern chinese cuisine. They have various dumplings and hotpot stew types of items. They have vegetable stir fry dishes and fried rice/noodles as well. On this visit, we ordered the pork and mushroom steamed dumplings and a soup noodle. The noodles came first, the noodles were excellent as they were homemade. The broth however did not have a lot of flavor but had shrimp, fungus, egg, and tomato. The dumplings on the other hand was delicious, very thin wrapping and the meat with mushroom filling packed a punch. I would definitely go back for their dumplings for sure.
This place was AWESOME! The dumplings were the first balance of flavour and moistness, while the soup was light yet still filling. The mantous were equally nice, as they were soft and chewy while still maintaining the flavours of the types of flour used to make them.
And the desserts - OH the desserts! - were fabulous. My mom really wanted the Sweet Potatoes in Hot Toffee; since I was quite dubious that it'd be something I would like, I stuck to the safe bet of glutinous rice balls in dessert soup (though it was a Shanghainese dessert as opposed to a Northern Chinese one).
The dessert soup arrived first: it was slightly too sweet for my taste, but the slight tartness of the Goji berries balanced it out. I also really liked the large amounts of egg white they whisked in.
Been here a couple of times and this their food doesn't disappoint. The service can vary depending on the server but it is fairly quick given the fact that they only have 2 servers for the whole place.
