Cedars & Co. works very hard to offer a wide variety of quality produce, meats, dairy products and freshly cooked meals. The store is constantly evolving in response to its customers' needs. I have heard one customer exclaim: "They're my fridge!!".
It is the yummiest shawarma in town. Very fresh and tasty. Generous portion and great service. Very good price too. Would certainly come back always
This is my go-to place for Sharma in Ottawa. Cozy and super friendly atmosphere. The thing that tips then over the top is their paid with garlic sauce (I always ask for a little extra). Sooooo good! Try 'em out. You won't regret it.
Once you go in, it is a nice and cozy place. They have variety of foods. At times when most stores are closed they are usually open. Their prices are reasonable. They also serve Shawarma, and it is probably the best Shawarma place in Ottawa. Their servings are quite big, and the price is good. Overall, I would recommend people to buy food there.
One of my favourite spots to eat in Ottawa. The shawarma is a great deal at only 4.49, and the trio adds fried potatoes (which they load with either garlic or spicy garlic sauce) and a drink for only 7.49, making it a full meal that is so, so good. All the ingredients are always fresh, although showing up later in the evening might get you colder potatoes. Still really good.
Within walking distance of Carleton University, and the grocery store attached offers a 10% student discount ! They also have an assorted hummus and dips etc bar with fresh, tasty, reasonably priced offerings. I recommend the Baba Ghanouj and different types of hummus (I really liked the green one). They sell fresh tasty pita chips as well which are the best, they have those spices on them (Who knows which ones) that are so delish.
The best shawarma I've ever eaten! The small trio is a great deal and more than enough food for one person. The staff is always really friendly and the food tastes very fresh. The potatoes that come in the trio are amazing, a few times they haven't been hot enough but they're still really good. My friend and I go almost every week, this place is addicting and so close to the Carleton campus!
Great chicken shawarma. The chicken shawarma is among my favorites in the city - there is something special about it that I can't put my finger on.....the meat is truly delicious and savoury. I am not however the biggest fan of their beef shawarma, I've had better....not sure what it is but I much prefer the chicken here - that being said I think it is a spicing issue with the beef - there is something in it that doesn't rest well with my palate - another person might find it great..... The food is over-all fresh and tasty here. I would recommend it in a heart-beat.
Wonderful Middle Eastern food!. Wonderful variety of interesting, tasty home-made take-out Middle Eastern food (try the mint hummus! try the kale salad!), as well as some of the freshest pita in the city.
Plus very friendly, personable service.
And the aroma when you go through the door is delightful.
This place should be thronged. Go - now! And go often. My husband and I have made it a weekly staple.
The cafeteria-style restaurant on one side of the store is also well worth frequenting. The dishes are very tasty, and reasonably priced, too.
An absolute gem of a local grocery store. Staff was super friendly, the price for my New York strip steak was better than large chain stores such as farm boy, loblaws etc. Couldn’t recommend this place more! Also a great local grocer to help support
Had a fantastic, catered 26th Anniversary dinner with salads, falafels and all the fixings. Cedars did an amazing job - great quality, great presentation and great price. Also supper easy to set up.
Much bigger than the one on Kilborn. Lots of product that you would never find in large grocery stores. The line up at the registry can be very confusing at times.
Good shawarma, and their produce is always of great quality. Good selection of grocery items. Their staff is always very friendly and helpful.
If you ever need a niche ingredient and have no idea where to find it… I’ll bet you that Cedar’s has it. From any cuisine or country! They have an amazing selection of food despite the store’s small footprint and so many great items made by local producers.
Happy I bought some vegetable plants and got 40% off. The cashier helped me get the plants to my car. Such good service and polite staff. I will shop there again. I recommend this place. I bought cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet peppers and kale plants .
The Shawarma meal is very good and so is the flower selection. The prices on many basic grocery items are quite expensive so we avoid buying them here. Edit: yes I realize you are a small business; the prices were expensive on the items we were considering purchasing. Simply a fact.
Cedars & Co is a great local store with a wide variety of food, including locally sourced products. The produce is always fresh. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful - their delivery service during the pandemic has been a life saver, and I am grateful they have continued with it (and thank you Paul!) The owners care about about their staff and customers, and do everything they can to keep everyone safe through the pandemic. We are lucky to have Cedars (and Brian and Marilyn) in our neighbourhood.
A great local store. Has a wide variety of fresh produce much of it sourced locally. Has everything you’d need and more. I shop here every couple of days and occasionally get a couple of shawarma platters for the four of us at home or a mix and match of prepared items. Thanks for taking care of us thru the pandemic.
We're so fortunate to have Cedar's in our neighbourhood! I am always amazed how many great products they manage to put on their seemingly limited shelf space and I love how they're always willing to bring in new, exciting products. Cedars caters to everyone, but also have an incredible selection of vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, and other specialty products.
The staff and owners are wonderful and we count ourselves very lucky to have this gem just a short walk away.
