This is my go to Chinese place in the area. Delivery service is very fast, food is always fresh and piping hot. Great service.. Been ordering from here for 12 years and never disappointed.
Great value. One of my favorite places in Orleans - have been eating here since I was a kid
Been eating here since childhood. I have eaten Lucky Star take out since I was a kid, and it always tastes great. I will definitely continue to do so since I am pretty much addicted to their food!
Great Chinese takeout place. I've been going here for a couple of years now and always the same great quality. I have found that the food isn't as greasy as other places I've been to in the past. I highly recommend the open ended egg rolls.
Great Chinese food and great service. The food is always hot, fresh and consistent. The combo plates are a great deal with good portion sizes. They also make a great won ton soup.
Amazing food and great service, worth the wait when its busy. Plus the guy who answers the phones is really cute :) I would recommend this place to anyone.
One up on the rest. Lucky Star has been my go-to Chinese take out restaurant for years. I've tried quite a few of the others in Orleans but they are just not as good and I've never eaten at any other place more than once or maybe twice.
The portions at Lucky Star are large and the prices are fair. The food is always hot and fresh. If you like General Tso's chicken, Lucky Star's is the best I've ever eaten; the chicken is crispy and served in thin slices, something I prefer greatly over the chunky pieces you usually get, and the sauce is just right. One of my favourite dishes is the Almond Guy Ding. Again, the sauce is divine and the veggies in the dish are fresh and delicious. The wonton soup, fried rice, and garlic spare ribs are great too, among the other things I've tried. Hubby likes the beef dishes (such as beef with green peppers). I have never been disappointed with a dish from Lucky Star.
The combination plates are a great value as well. For around $11 (can't remember exactly off the top of my head) you get enough food to easily share with someone or make into two meals for yourself.
That all being said, I find that whether or not people enjoy Chinese restaurants has a lot to do with how the food is prepared and that's a personal preference. So don't take my word for it, try it and decide for yourself!
Always consistent. Generous portions. I've been going for years. On large orders specify you want more rice or make them separate orders. My brother in law comes from Gatineau. It's that good. Wish they had a sit down restaurant. Owner , he could smile more.
Price is good, good value.
Great food! Not greasy at a.... Great food!
Not greasy at all.
These guy are bosses! Unreal quality and prompt service. They deliver 10 k to my house in less than 45 mins. Fresh fun food for parties or late night cravings! Try the young chow fried rice!
Decided to try this place after seeing several great reviews on my Orleans Foodies group. I have to agree!
Ordered online through their website for pickup an hour later and when we arrived early, they were still making my food, which means it wasn't sitting around (a good thing!). Portions were generous and the food was delicious, not at all greasy. The Egg Foo Yung in particular was excellent, with delicious gravy. Egg rolls were tasty too!
Thanks for a great dinner!
Lucky Star Chinese is fantastic! I love this place. Food pricing is competitive with alternate Chinese food locations: super fast service, kind & humble people. Always a pleasure doing business with you guys.
I will see you again lol 👍🏼
Eaten here several times - it is consistently fresh, hot and delicious. I find their combo plates a great deal as they are priced right and offer enough food that you’ll have left overs!
Depending how busy the wait time is about 10 minutes
Goodies are tightly wrapped up in a paper bag and hot when you get home. Each different serving has it's own container with locking lid. Dinner for two can be eaten over 2 nights as they provide ample food. Best guy's in town.
My go-to Chinese take-out over a long relationship. My favourite standard meal comprises Won Ton Soup with its huge pork-filled dumplings, juicy Curried Veggies, cashew-laded saucy Kung Pau and other speciality, General Tao chicken. Of course, the feast begins with the stellar Spring Rolls, handmade, packed with crisp veggies, and perfectly crisp. Kudos to the woman who whips up these out-of-this world morsels fresh, for each order ... could make a meal on them alone!! Delivery is speedy and piping hot. Defer the usual food additive MSG. Lucky Star meals are flavour perfection in these and other dishes I have ordered. LS kindly give me chopsticks when I ask. Courteous and dedicated workers from my years of experience. Wish them a prosperous 2023!
I drive from Barrhaven to Orleans just to get food from here. Portion sizes are excellent, but it's the flavor of the food that keeps us coming back. It's worth the trip. It is still our most favorite Chinese food restaurant in Ottawa. Our whole family loves it. It's just for takeaway though. No dining in.
I recently ordered from this local family owned restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the food and service. Definitely reccomend their singapore fried noodles if you like curry based food. The price point, quality of food and attention to special notes when u placed my order was on point.
Such good Chinese food! We've been going here for years. Note: it's take out only. We've never had issues with our orders, the service is always good and the food is amazing! Favorite dish is their broccoli and beef. I have shellfish allergies and have not had any issues but they do have shellfish in the kitchen. This is where we order from when we have groups and they love it too!
I went on what is probably their busiest day of the year, New Years Eve. The staff worked themselves to the bone and yet they stayed positive and did their best. They would let you know how long the wait was so if you thought it was too long you could leave before ordering. Well done Lucky Star. Oh and I enjoyed my meal.
I've been in love with Lucky Star Chinese food for the past 30 years. Seriously one of the best Chinese food takeout restaurants in Orleans. fantastic egg rolls. All the other food is pretty good too. The only downside but this restaurant is trying to get an order on New year's Eve be prepared for 2 to 3 hour wait. Overall however the great restaurant.
