Absolutely fantastic food as well as service. Very accommodating when it comes to food restrictions. I love the atmosphere and the artwork that's featured (including the bathrooms!). The "Chinadoll" cocktail is definitely my favourite drink now. Can't wait to go back!
Saturday night is fun!!! Either participating or observing Karaoke. Drink menu very clubby. Some people ordered late night noodles and they were great. But tonight is about the music. Such fun. Too bad MC China Doll wasn't there on our recent visit.
Great karaoke night!. Karaoke with China Doll is easily one of the most fun and reliable ways in Ottawa to drunkenly blast through your Saturday night. Add to that the decor and art that the owners clearly put time and energy into, the overall space is welcoming and energetic. Drinks were great too. As for food, their peanut butter sauce dumplings are the best thing on the menu.
Fun times at Shanghai. We just had a great evening out (17 of us) at Shanghai, we ordered many different dishes for our large group (2 tables), the wine list and cocktail list was great, the service was attentive and good and the food dishes were very tasty. All of us had a ball at Karaoke, I would definitely recommend this great little place, we there for dinner and the entertainment... both exceeded our expectations, the place was booked out and very busy and everyone was taken care of. We will be back! We loved it!
Great atmosphere, great cocktails, good food. As much as Shanghai isn't my #1 favorite for Chinese food in China Town it's still a great place. The food is good, the cocktails are great, and they host some really fun events.
Unique place!!!. From the moment I entered this restaurant I fell in love 'cause it wasn't like the average ones at all!....local artist's paintings on the wall ,intriguing interior retro style design,artsy pictures and interesting music..and the food was awesome too! i had a very good pad thai and shared with a friend some fried tofu with vegetables with ginger(good potions too ).the smoothies are amazing,they are made with real fruit and dairy free!you can also make it alcoholic too :D
They also have monthly music events I haven't checked out yet!
Defintely recommended to who would like to see something different in chinatown!
Not the best, certainly not the worst chinease I've had. Service was great and food was just fine. I'd be happy to eat there again, but I wouldn't necessarily initiate it. 9.11 out of 17.3

This hip dining establishment offers good food but prices are higher than other equally good chinese places and the meat portions are skimpy. Love the staff
