Best bakery in the Ottawa area...I highly recommend it!
Still my favourite bakery after all these years. Excellent selection and amazing pastries, breads and quiches.
This is our favourite location of the two. All the bread and pastries are fantastic. My kids love the danishes as well as the croissanta and chocolatines. Their desserts are great as well!
Almond Croissant. These are always sold out early because they are so good! Fluffy pastry and light marzipan... what isn't to like?
I'm addicted to their almond croissants, I can't eat only one. The Italian bread is amazing and cakes so good and moist. I love this bakery, clean, fresh and affordable.
Tasty treats. Picked up some creme eclairs and macarons on sunday, Very tasty.
Reply to richard-billard's comment. I've tried their coffee butter cream cake and also their vanilla one and I found both very good and moist. All my friends who shared it said it was very good. It's too bad you got a bad one. You were probably unlucky. But I'd say their butter cream cakes are their 'normal' cakes. If you try some other cakes they have, like the mouses and the Tiramisu, they are just AWESOME!
I would recommend this bakery to anyone who wants good cake. Give them a try :)
P.S.: Their almond croissants are to die for, especially if they are fresh out of the oven!
My favourite bakery in Ottawa. We often buy their cakes for special occasions and have found them all to be delicious. All of their croissants and their breads are also very good.
Can be wonderful, depending on what you go for. There are two Delice Royals in Orleans; one on Trim/Watters and one just off of Orleans Blvd. They are owned by the same family and have pretty much the same selection at both with one very important exception: Poppa Bean coffee beans are available at the Trim Rd. location. Try it and you will not be sorry.
Delice Royal's Belgian bread is probably their best item. Multigrain comes in a close second. Both loaves are under $5. They do not have the distinction of baking from scratch, like Top of the Hill Bakery, but it is still really yummy bread.
But it you are going for the pastries, take the extra time to drive down the hill to the Orleans Bakery, because the croissants/pains au chocolat, etc. will not make you swoon. They just don't have the texture or flavour to make the calories worth it.
They also have some very lovely-looking cakes, desserts and macarons that I haven't yet tried. Honey and jam are on offer too.
Best multi-grain bread ever. I absolutely love their multi-grain bread. I could eat an entire loaf myself! Delicious!
