I went there for lunch and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The bento box I had, had a bit of everything however I also ordered the Korean ribs as well that came with rice. The service was superb and I’d definitely be going there again!
I loved the food! I had the bibimbap and pork gyoza and they were both delicious and well priced. There was a good mix of lesser known and popular dishes on the menu, all decently priced. The service was okay, though nothing special and I don't recall the decor or ambiance being anything special either, but it was still and all around good experience.
I've been here about 3 times now, for AYCE. Overall, it is one of the only Korean BBQ places, and the quality is pretty decent. But there are a few things to be aware of.
The options for the AYCE menu is actually quite small. The main attraction, which is the grilled meats, they only offer chicken, beef or pork. In my experience, and everyone I've gone with, the pork is by far the best, and the chicken is the least impressive.
They don't tell you, or advise you on how much you should order at a time, and how much can fit on the grill and be cooked reasonably. I found ordering 3-4 portions to be optimal. However, the first time we ordered more than that, and they just dumped it all on the grill, and meat more boiled than grilled. Just something to be aware of, order smaller quantities at a time.
I've only been seated upstairs once, but I found the service was absolutely horrible upstairs, but downstairs it was pretty reasonable. I haven't found them very friendly in general, but usually efficient enough, but upstairs we were mostly ignored and never really checked on. Any time we wanted anything, we had to press the buzzer a couple times, and then still flag someone down. Additionally, their AC was broken and this was a day that was 30C, and there were numerous gas grills going upstairs too, which made it not very comfortable.
Overall, I'll definitely go back, but personally I don't think I'd bother if I were being seated upstairs again.
I went for all you can eat with a group of friends. Service was awesome, really quick, friendly, and accommodating for our rather large group. The food was delicious as well. My only complaint would be that there isn't enough selection during lunch, but you get what you pay for. Would recommend, will probably go again.
Okay . So I went with my asian boys tonight. We sat 9 people. It was good. We did individual orders. おいし I ordered kimchi chigae. Great order. It was 14.50 after tax and tip. So I thought it was good. I think korean bbq would have been better to have.
Reserved a table for Korean BBQ ahead of time, so no issues there. Did AYCE Bbq, not disappointed. Delish kimchi, japchae, bibimbap, mandu and marinated chicken. Bulbogi cuts were tough. Thirsty as hell after...they must use msg bcs we all drank 6 glasses of water, then 4 more after. Service is ok. Seemed like one of the servers had attitude when we asked for more meat, but our main server was fine.
it is the best korean restaurant in Ottawa.
we tried bulgogi, tofu soup and bibimbap.. all are very tasty.
all the side dishes are also good too.
i would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
i didn't give it full score is because the price is higher than other korean restaurants in ottawa, and the service was not friendly.
the service was the only part that needs to improve..
Big portions, friendly and quick service -- will come back for sure!. We went as a family of 4 (2 adults, 4 year old and 9 months old) on a Sunday night for dinner. We ordered the AYCE Table BBQ and asked if they could cook it inside since we didn't want our kids to be so close to the table BBQ. They said no problem and the food came out so quick!
From the AYCE Table BBQ meal at $23 per adult and $4 for our 4 year old, we ordered:
1 Pork
1 Chicken
1 Bibimbak (beef)
4 beef dumplings
1 side dishes
1 Korean pancakes
3 Miso soups
2 Rice
1 Jab Chae
Everything came out very quickly, I don't even remember waiting. The meat dishes were massive so beware when you are ordering. We probably should have just stuck with 1 meat (pork or chicken or beef). The bibimbak was very good. My 4 year old ate a bit of everything except for the kimchi. Even my 9 months old ate miso soup with tofu and rice with some chicken.
There were many servers/waiters on the floor. The guys were all very nice and humoured my 4 year old. They always had smiles on their faces.
This was a great family experience and we will definitely come again! Thanks!
Favourite. My favourite place for all you can eat. I haven't tried the non-AYCE menu so I can't speak for that, but the meat is very good - ask for chilli flakes to add to your BBQ for extra flavour. Also love the fried mandu and korean pancakes... soo good. My friends and I are regulars and we love it every time.
Good atmosphere, authentic food. The atmosphere was inviting and friendly, the food was authentic, and very fresh (fish soup), the menu is extensive,
