A very average restaurant. Chef advertises his East LA roots but the experience was nothing like the Southwest. Had the tamale and taco salad. Portions were small. Way too overpriced. Food tasted just Ok. They don’t even give you chips and dip! Plus the chairs are wobbly and hard wood uncomfortable. Disappointing. Only way I would go back is if one of my gringo friends insisted because they don’t know any better.

I decided to walk to The Glebe at dinner time, and I found Feleena’s. This is a colourful and cozy Mexican restaurant that seats about 60. All the chairs wooden, were different shapes and different colours, including different paintings on the seats. It was almost empty at 5:30, but there was a steady trickle of customers coming in as I had my meal.
I picked the Fajitas with a mix of Chicken and Shrimp. The skillet arrived screaming hot with 6 plump shrimp and an equal portion of sliced, grilled chicken, on top of sautéed bell peppers and onions. Everything on the skillet was nicely seasoned. The fajita fixings included sour cream, guac, pico de gallo and lettuce. I think it could have used some shredded jack cheese as well. Still, it was a filling and satisfying meal.
Service was friendly and pretty fast.
I really enjoyed this place. We were regular customers or the old Mexis before the franchise disaster. Great Burritos, enchiladas, tacos, chilli and nachos The food is the kind of Mexican I enjoy. The service was great and everyone was really friendly.
