Love the menu, service and ambiance. Would highly recommend as a spot to have a great lunch/dinner and will likely be using them for future family dining events.
Excellent service... I went yesterday with my husband. Our spinach dip came out at the same time as our steak entrees, so the manager gave us our spinach dip for free, even though we weren't particularly disappointed that it had come to us late. Plus, we got free dessert because it was my husband's birthday (we got to choose the dessert we wanted because of the spinach dip appetizer mishap). The manager gave us two $10 vouchers for a future visit! And all freebies aside, the steak was delicious, the wine was the perfect pairing, and the mini crème brulee trio... wow... so flavourful! Very happy with our visit, we will be coming back again!
FOOD:
When we had first arrived on a Friday evening at around 6:15 pm, we had settled on the Mississippi Calamari ($13.00) to share between the three of us as an appetizer. There were actually quite a number of calamari pieces on the plate, with each of them tasting fresh, hot (temperature-wise), and appetizing. I loved the dipping sauce that they came with (although it wasn’t enough as we all dipped our calamari into it). Definitely a great appetizer to start off the evening! One thing which was a bit of a disappointment was that there was no complimentary bread at the beginning of our meal, something that we usually see at other high-end establishments, and would have loved to see here.
For our main dishes, I had ordered the Prime Rib Sandwich (with a side of French Fries) ($18.00), while my husband and friend had settled on the Rib Steaks ($68.00 for two), along with Lobster ($17.00), Shrimp ($10.00), and Scallops ($14.00 for two orders) on the side. I was happy to see that the Prime Rib Sandwich came with a large array of French Fries, which was surprising as most establishments only provide a small amount of French Fries with their main dishes. I also loved how thinly-cut they were as they were tasty and easy-to-eat. The only thing was that they were not very warm (temperature-wise); I would have liked for them to be hotter as they would have tasted a bit better.
In terms of the sandwich itself, I loved how overloaded with meat it was, along with the nice tasting hoagie bun that it came on. I thought that the sandwich was well-done, although the dipping sauce that it came with was much too small to dip the sandwich into. Overall though, it was a great sandwich, and I’m glad that I had ordered it as it definitely filled me up! The Rib Steaks and seafood additions were also delicious, with large pieces of all items, and the perfect fixings on the side. My husband and friend were definitely impressed with how much food they had gotten, and how delicious it all tasted.
For dessert, I had settled on the Baton Rouge Cookie ($7.00), which was a large baked chocolate-chip cookie, with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, and drizzled chocolate and caramel sauce. It was quite delicious, although I didn’t find the cookie very warm (temperature-wise). We were told by our server that the first cookie had been burnt therefore, they were making a second-one for me (which was the one that I had received). Our friend had settled on the White Raspberry Cheesecake ($8.00) which he said was delicious.
ATMOSPHERE:
We had made reservations for our dinner as it did become quite crowded as we were seated. We were seated in a large booth near the kitchen, which had ample room for more than six people. I loved how comfortable the seating was, along with how relaxed the restaurant seemed. I felt peaceful as I sat there, eating my meal and enjoying the conversation. It was a bit loud as the kitchen was right next to us therefore, we were able to hear what the individuals in the kitchen were saying throughout the entire evening. I also loved the décor on the walls and the lighting, which was dimmed to create a relaxing ambiance.
SERVICE:
We were served by a young woman, whom was very attentive, kind, and courteous. She allowed us to take our time in choosing our items, and to relax afterwards. She also came by to fill our water glasses quite frequently, and even made some jokes with us, which kept us relaxed and happy. She was also apologetic about the burnt cookie, and came by frequently to ask us how we were enjoying ourselves and if we needed anything more. She was definitely one of the best servers that we have ever had, very well-done!
COST:
1 Prime Rib Sandwich (With French Fries): $18.00 + 2 Rib Steaks ($34.00 Each): $68.00 + 1 Lobster Tail: $17.00 + 1 Glass Of Wine: $8.00 + 2 Orders Of Scallops ($14.00 Each): $28.00 + 1 Mississippi Calamari (Appetizer): $13.00 + 1 Order Of Shrimp: $10.00 + 1 White Raspberry Cheesecake Slice: $8.00 + 1 Baton Rouge Cookie: $7.00 = $177.00 + Tax = $200.01
WOULD YOU RETURN?
Most certainly! Definitely worth the price that was paid!
This was my first time at this chain and it is pretty good. I found it very Keg like but with a wide variety of options on the menu. The steaks are very good with some great appetizers.
Been here a few times and will go again for sure.
The seafood here is better than red lobster's. Nice atmosphere and decent service.
Good food, good service. We went on a fairly busy night, the place was packed. Prime rib and steak was excellent and loved the garlic mash. When the shrimp came it was cold but waiter took it and replaced it. Would definately go again.
I went to BR a couple of days for a friends birthday party (there was about 15 of us) and the service was excellent. I started with the Cheddar Dip which almost completly ruined my appetite because it was so delicious, I couldn't stop eating it then I had the Baton Rouge burger which was as good as any burger from a Jack Astors or Boston Pizza type place. What really stood where the awesome fries, I don't know what they sprinkled on them but they were fantastic.
My colleagues and I had lunch at Baton Rouge today. We got there about 12:30pm and it wasn't too busy. Steve ordered a salad with Bourbon beef. There was a lotta salad and not a lotta beef. He did say the beef was good, though. Helene and I ordered chicken tenders. I got mine with fries and baked apples. It was good. The ticket for our order had gotten lost but they were gracious about it, apologizing and offering free dessert.
