Ethical Kitchen is an island oasis for anyone interested in unconventional traditional dietary models and health.
This restaurant is inspired by the work of Weston A Prince, one of the most cited figures in real evidentiary nutrition.
Price advocated for traditional diets that used less grains, and carbohydrate while favouring fermentation and sprouting techniques – all of this almost 100 years ago.
This place also offers as near to a farm to table experience that can be had in Vancouver.
For those that have posted negative reviews here - I would suggest this is due to the fact that the prevailing idea of a restaurant experience should be great service, and delicious food.
Personally, I would take OK service and food of the quality and care like that which is made here – Every Single Time.
Had the soba today, after hearing good things. Their soba is made in house, with hand cut noodles, hand milled buckwheat flour. The meal is finished with a teapot of the water the noodles are boiled in - which is poured into the remaining dipping sauce for a light broth. Great experience, the noodles were amazing, and the dipping sauce well balanced.
Would happily return, and recommend to friends.
My rating is based on food only, but I'm tempted to give a 4.5 for the ambiance. Service is warm and welcoming.
Great Pancakes and Waffles!. Ethical Kitchen does a great job with their Sourdough Pancakes/Waffles! If you're into more of a sour taste I would recommend the pancakes. Not a big fan of sour taste? Then I would go for the waffles(which are my favorite). Both come with a highly addictive syrup, Enjoy!
