So while visiting North Vancouver we wandered through the Lonsdale Quay market and stopped for lunch in the food court. There was a small fried chicken place inside. The operation appears to be run by korean family. They made conventional fried chicken, plus a number of flavored variations (teriyaki, soy, korean spicy, garlic, etc).
While planning a day trip to Park Royal and Ambleside Park, I was trying to find something different to have for lunch on the way there. Lo and behold, a new stall had opened up right at Lonsdale Quay! Even better, it was a Korean fried chicken joint! I had been craving the stuff for awhile now…so this seemed like a match made in heaven.
Very crispy chicken! But also not your typical crispy fried chicken, so if you're used to KFC, be careful about assuming you'll like The Fried Chicken Works. I figured I'd want to eat it piping hot so I opted for their handy boneless option. If you've ever held a drumstick that had only minutes before come out of the fryer, hoping to eat the chicken while it's still hot and juicy, you'll know what a literal pain it is to hold onto the heat-retaining bone.
