Great fish and chips light batter and cooked to perfection. Great service. Visit is a must when in Vancouver
I would rate it 6 stars if i could!
I've been coming here since I was a kid. Best place for on the go fish&chips. Not too greasy and their fries are homemade which is awesome. Everyone that works there is always happy and welcoming. Fish nuggets are my personal favourite.
We were at Lonsdale Quay for their farmer’s market. After a stroll along the water’s edge, and peaking at what each vendor had to offer, we wandered in to the market place for some warmth and ready made food. We walked the food court until we decided on fish and chips at “Montgomery Fish & Chips”. The look of their booth matched the traditional and regal sounding family name that it began with. The booth’s boarder was decorated to look like a wooden castle with several planks creating a jagged roof top and a gate with cast iron hinges at the bottom. A dragon was perched above and broad swords flanked either ends.
Decent chippie that's been there for as long as I can remember. Very well run and organized place, and it's good, but I feel like I don't get quite enough fish and get far too many chips.
We were here on the BC day holiday so it was super busy. We didn't have to wait too long for the food tho. Seems like it is run very efficiently imo.
We ordered the 1 pc halibut, chips, scallops, prawns, clam strips and soda. It came to just shy of $40.
Their halibut was so sublimely good... The batter was super thin and crispy without being greasy. The meat was tender and flaky.
The prawns and scallops, while being fried to the perfect tenderness, had a different batter than halibut. The batter was unfortunately heavy and greasy.
The clam strips were not good. They had a different batter as well-more of a breading type coating. The breading was thick, dry, and dark.
Fries were all right. Very crispy.
Tartar sauce is all right as well. A tad on the runny side that I would've like.
I would definately come back for their halibut alone. And also to perhaps try out their other fish options of cod and I think it was snapper.
And of course I have to mention their awesome location just by the doors that lead out to the beautiful lonsdale quay pier.
We were surprised to find a good fish and chips place inside the Lonsdale Quay food court. The batter was nice and light, not greasy at all, and it actually stayed stuck to the fish when cut open. The fries weren't soggy and were pretty good as well. We ordered a cod combo for $21+tax, which came with four pieces of fish in total, fries, two sides, and two cans of pop. For that price we were more than happy with both the quality and the quantity of food.
Always Awesome. Some of the best food in North Vancouver! Excellent fish, thin crispy batter and the best fries in the area........
Service is great. You get your food that you order fast. The fish is moist and the breading is light and crispy.
And it is very very fresh.
Fresh fish made to order best chips and gravy. The only vendor I'd patronize at Lonsdale Quay!
For fish & chips, this place is LEGIT!! It's right by the ocean, it doesn't get fresher than this! Some say it's comparable to Pajo's in Steveson, I've never had Pajo's so I can't say haha. But they're rated 4.5 stars on Yelp for a reason! After checking out their menu, I went with their special, 1 piece of cod & chips for $8! They have all types of fish, with the prices being comparable to other places in Vancouver! Fairly reasonable for a touristy place! Daily Special $8 4.5/5 stars This stuff is SOLID! Definitely up there with the best places for fish& chips in Vancouver! The batter is incredibly light, fragrant, and the inside is super soft and flaky! With zero grease! Even though it was advertised as being one piece, I actually got a little more, which made me really happy hehe. Chips 4/5 stars The chips are also really solid! Crispy, with the skins on, just how I like em. Eat them fast though, because they do get soggy quickly from being squashed by the fish! I actually ate them plain, no ketchup needed!!
Good food, good fast service. Best fish 'n chips in town - not greasy, just crispy & delicious. Yummy fresh coleslaw too. I always feel young when I come here since it's usually full of seniors.
Gotta be a 5-star. Have been a few times lately and the food has always been great. Very good portions of perfectly cooked fish and chips with the batter done to perfection. I've also had the C-dog and the chicken strips and those are great.
I'd say C-Lovers is one of the better fish and chips places in Vancouver. I would recommend getting the haddock over the cod as they are very similar in flavour, especially after being deep fried, but the haddock is a larger portion.
Lots of free parking right outside.
Fair bit of seating inside while still maintaining social distancing.
Ordered the all you can eat. Which is just fish and chips with bottomless pop. No coleslaw. Each plate had 5 pieces of fish (small to medium size). I was able to finish 2 plates.
The kitchen is visible and relatively clean, the wait staff were quick and attentive.
Note you are not getting cod or halibut with the all you can eat.
Overall, I would eat here again.
Enjoyed the one piece Haddock which was more than enough. Challenge yourself with the 17.99$ all you can eat. Super quick service and fully licensed. Great fish.
Never really had real fish and chips until I found this gem. Everything here was freaking delicious. The onion rings here are amazing! But not as amazing as the different types of fried fish here. Will definitely visit again when I'm around the area! Didn't know there were multiple locations of this place around Vancouver.
